KRIEKET: TOPVERTONINGS IN WP SE EERSTE LIGA

Young footie talent on show THOMAS CAROLUS Football fans can looked forward to an exciting display of Western Cape’s young talent at the Trinitarians Football club sixth annual Easter Tournament for the under-13 age group, which takes place at the Uitsig Sports Ground, Elsies River from 30 March to 1 April. Over the years it has grown from strength to strength - changing the football landscape. The 2013 version promises to be another exciting tournament filled with thrills and spills. For the youth in Cape Town, especially in our disadvantaged areas, it is an opportunity to get exposure in the game of soccer but more than that it is also a means to express themselves and enhance their leadership skills. “To win is not everything and sometimes too much emphasis is placed on winning and not enough em-

phasis is placed on the individual’s development,” says the spokesman for the club Martin Keith Julie. “At Trinitarians we are passionate about the development of our youth. To us it’s not just about soccer, it’s about so much more. We believe in offering positive lifestyles by creating an environment where together with our senior players and coaches as role models, we are able to teach our youth to become well-rounded individuals with good selfesteem and good values. The total prize money up for grabs is R7 000. The two teams contesting the final will each receive playing kit valued at R1 500 per team. The closing date for entries is Monday 4 March 2013 and the entrance fee per team is R400. For more information contact Robert Pretorius on 082 082 4419 or Martin Keith Julie on 084 222 1482.
