Dilana heading home again International rock beauty, Dilana, is in SA. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa Dilana left South Africa in her teens to pursue her musical dream and soon found herself in Holland where she became one of the country’s most popular live acts. The journey from Holland to LA then ensued and Dilana soon found herself auditioning for “Rock Star Supernova” where she was the second runner -up in 2006 having received worldwide support and exposure. Dilana has performed with rock legends such as Tommy Lee and Mick Mars, Dave Navarro and Gilby Clarke.

In 2007 she opened for Aerosmith and Beth Hart. Having had many successful solos tours throughout North America and western Europe she is now coming back to her home ground for the first time since 2010. In November 2009 she released InsideOut, a compilation of 12 original songs and her first full length album in nine years. The Part­time Pirates are coming to Cape Town.

Buckets of rum for scurvy Johannesburg bands, Part-Time Pirates and After Robot are joining forces with local bands when they tour Cape Town this month. Pirate-themed rock band Part-Time Pirates draw their inspiration from a variety of bands, artists and places, ranging from Alestorm to Fokofpolisiekar, while After Robot is an experimental alternative rock band. The Rum Bucket Tour kicks off on 12 December at The Jolly Roger with Very Ape and Someday Rush. Very Ape will join the bands again on 13 December when they play at Obz Café, be-

fore the tour moves to The Nameless Pub on 14 December, also with Very Ape and Skin and Bone. On 15 December, the Rum Bucket Tour will be at Rabbit Hole with De Wallen, No.15 and Kevin Rule. Part Time Pirates and After Robot will be doing an unplugged set at Caturra Coffee Bar on 16 December with Very Ape and Karla Valentine. On 18 December they will be at ROAR with Very Ape, No.15, before ending the tour at Zula Bar on 19 December with De Wallen and Very Ape.
