Fun brings in funds As Canal Walk launched the Frozen Fun Slide on Friday 29 November, R10 000 was donated to Tygerberg Children’s Hospital. Great fun was had at the launch with friendly rivalry between some of South Africa’s best-known celebrities and media personalities, who took part in The Elements Charity Dash. Comedian Stuart Taylor took first place honours and chose to dedicate his victory to the Tygerberg Children’s Hospital. The Frozen Fun Slide Park, which will run until Sunday 5 January 2020, is a collaboration with The Walt Disney Company Africa and in celebration of the impending launch of Frozen II, the sequel to the beloved movie, Frozen. Frozen II opens in cinemas in South Africa on Friday 6 December. Tickets to the Canal Walk Shopping Centre’s Frozen Fun Slide Park are available on www.webtickets.co.za. It is further alleged that the men were seen half naked in the car and the community rescued the two girls and beat the three men on the scene. It is alleged that one of the men were beaten with a glass bottle over his head. The community punctured the left rear tyre of the suspect’s car to stop the vehi-

A case of kidnapping has been opened and the suspects will appear in court. “The police warned the community to keep their children busy and safe at homes. Children are not allowed to be seen outside homes without supervision of parents or any adults. We urge parents to teach the children

not to talk to strangers or open doors to people even if they know them. Adults must keep their eyes open because we live in a world where evil happens in our communities right under our eyes and we don’t see it,” says Muller. She says there are many programmes in the community hosted by non-governmental organisations and churches that can keep children busy during the school holidays, so that they do not have to roam the streets.
