Blessed with beauty, intelligence and an unbridled enthusiasm for life, Gemma Feare, Miss Jamaica UK 2012/2013, is an award-winning actress, an in-demand model, a thoughtful mentor and a sought after presenter. Born in central England’s Midlands region and raised in a traditional Jamaican environment by her grandmother who migrated from the island in the mid 60s, Gemma is a 2012 graduate with first-class honours in Business Management with Commercial Law from The University of Westminster. She will pursue her Masters Degree in Management at London’s Cass Business School, which is among the top one per cent worldwide. In 2011 Gemma joined The National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. A recipient of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts' (LAMDA) Communication Award, she now has a recurring role in the award-winning comedy web series “Brothers With No Game” recently acquired by UK TV channel London Live. As the only female presenter for popular online entertainment website Factory78, Gemma has enhanced her skills through exclusive celebrity interviews to a YouTube channel that has generated over 2 million views. Her interviews include Sean Paul, The Game and Omotola Jalade Ekeinde. Gemma has hosted live events including Afro Hair & Beauty Live 2013, Europe’s biggest lifestyle event for people of colour, as well as the UK’s number one catwalk competition, Mr & Mrs Runway 2012, in association with Select Model Management. As a red carpet presenter at the Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts Awards (BEFFTA) in 2012, she is currently a presenter on the lifestyle website YMYTV.com, based in Kingston, Jamaica and New York City. In 2013 she went on to co-host the (debut) Pay Per View broadcast of Jamaica’s largest one-night reggae/dancehall show, Sting. Gemma now anchors entertainment and culture show “Afrobuzz” on the UK’s first Pan-African TV channel “VoxAfrica”. Broadcasting across the UK, Europe and Africa, she covers film premieres, news, interviews and more. On each of her visits to the island, Gemma spends time speaking to children about transforming obstacles into opportunities. “Some people see opportunities as challenges but it is all about perception,” Gemma observes. “Everyday I get my mind right and good things come to pass.”
