Peer reviewed publication: Maitin V, Andreo U, Guo L, Fisher EA (2014) Docosahexaenoic Acid Impairs the Maturation of Very Low Density Lipoproteins in Rat Hepatic Cells. Journal of Lipid Research, 55: 75-84. (Impact Factor: 5.6, most-cited journal devoted to lipids) Dr. Maitin will be presenting the results from her externally funded clinical study on synbiotics and obesity during the ‘Nutrition and the Microbiome’ session of the American Society of Nutrition, at the Experimental Biology meeting in San Diego in April 2014. Dr. Maitin’s graduate student Priscilla Pham has been selected as one of 12 finalists for the American Society for Nutrition’s Graduate Student Research Awards Competition to be held during the Experimental Biology meeting in San Diego in April 2014. Mack Shay will also be presenting his thesis research at this conference. Additionally, Priscilla Pham won first place in the Research Paper Contest at the Fifth Annual Research Conference for Graduate Students at Texas State University in November 2013.
