Thank you for joining us to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of The Two Moors Festival. We are thrilled to be holding this event at Powderham Castle with HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh. As many of you will know, The Two Moors Festival was founded by John and Penny Adie in 2001 in response to the devastation caused by the Foot and Mouth Disease outbreak which decimated both the national farming industry and tourism in the area. The Adies were inspired to help regenerate the local economy and bring cheer to people’s lives by producing a series of concerts across the two moors.

Every year since then we have held a music festival across both moors. This is my sixth year as Artistic Director and our programme this year represents the best of chamber music and song. It spans six centuries of music, including a World Premiere, talks, workshops and family events, all taking place in beautiful venues across the moors. Like most music festivals, our ticket sales cover less than half of the total cost of the festival and so we are dependent on the generosity of individuals like you, so thank you for coming!

Your support is essential to the Festival which I hope will continue for at least another twenty five years!
