Greetings from Our Leadership

Dear Community,

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Kara Clower and I am the new Director of Operations for Two Feathers! I am excited to be a member of the team here and a part of your community. I look forward to learning from you, building relationships, and helping Two Feathers fulfill its mission. To learn a little more about me and our other new team members, please visit our Welcome Team Members Page in this Newsletter.

We have been busy preparing for summer-program activities and groups for our youth and families. Our goal is to provide fun, engaging, and meaningful activities over the summer to stay engaged while school is out. Some of our programs include: Strong Youth, Native Moms’ Circle, Rainbow Collaborative, Saa’-a-goch’ue-kwey-get, hiking, biking, and so much more! Flyers for our summer programs are spread throughout this Newsletter, and it’s not too late for people to sign up. If you do not see a program you were hoping to, please let us know. We are constantly reflecting on what our community wants and needs.

This edition of our Newsletter includes a highlight of Emma Boykin, one of our TAY Advocacy team members. I am so impressed with Emma and her involvement with the Youth Town Hall event. We also highlight Jason Smith for his participation in the Sacred Trails Cleanup Project. Thank you, Jason, for leading by example.

Our Youth Ambassadors have also been busy! I am looking forward to hearing more about their experience working with Dell’Arte. Participating in theater for the first time can be intimidating and they are courageous for jumping in.

I would also like to recognize the 2021 graduates! Congratulations! You overcame many challenges and did it! We are all proud of you.

We are all adjusting to the changes related to the pandemic and we want everyone to know safety is important to us. We believe it is our duty to help protect our youth and community, so at this time we will continue to wear our face masks when interacting with our families and youth indoors.

As we grow and learn, we would love to receive feedback on how we are doing. We look forward to hearing from you.

All my best, Kara Clower
