Laser Training Comes to Main Street With Laserlytes’s Laser Training Target and LT-Pro Laser Module. There certainly is no lack of hackneyed clichés with regards to the training experience. However, the bottom line is providing the trainee with a means of acquiring skill sets and their application. The object is to have a trainee internalize skills so that he or she can successfully apply them in scenarios that were not anticipated during the training process. The emphasis on limited engagement, low intensity conflicts, such as those executed by our special operations forces, placed demands on military trainers that until recently went unmet, or perhaps the better description is awkwardly dealt with. Once the need surfaced, some very creative folks addressed the challenge with computer aided simulation and laser technology. One such company is Laser Shot Incorporated who has garnered a worldwide reputation and customers for their many laser-training products, in particular the Digital Modular Shoot House. Working in concert with the Laser Shot Virtual Shoot House (LVS) software, the trainer has the ability to run endless simulations and conduct live fire exercises with complete safety.
simulations and to say that I was thoroughly impressed is a complete understatement. Along with creating any conceivable training situation, using this technology, the trainer can also simulate the effects of a hit on a soft target; in so doing, providing some level of conditioning to the psyche. What then would you give to have one of your own? This isn’t the proper venue for me to respond to that question, but I’ll simply say that I only have two! Fortunately, the concept of laser training has spilled over to the commercial markets and there are now three or four quality solutions available to you, at a reasonable cost. One such product is Laserlyte’s Laser Training Target and LT-Pro laser module. When used in conjunction, the system delivers a decidedly portable and highly effective training tool requiring no special setup. As of this writing, it is the only reactive laser trainer available, to the commercial market, at a 1 price point of under $300 . But, why do you need one? Let’s start with cost savings. A typical day at the range consists of $12 - $20 range fees, cost of transportation to and from the range, and 100 – 150 rounds of ammunition. If we tally that up for a typical 9mm shooter, you’ve probably spent about $85. Range Ammo Transportation Total
I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to run through some of those
