By Jo Kennett A PROPERTY just outside of Pottsville has gone on the market, advertised as “the largest development site offering currently on the market within the Tweed Shire Council.” Number 1126 Pottsville Road wraps around the Pottsville Ambulance Station and runs to the bottom of the hill heading west to the Pacific Motorway, opposite Seabreeze. The majority of the 17.69-hectare property on the western side is bush and wetlands. The eastern side runs along Pottsville Road and includes a large shed and dwelling. It is advertised as walking distance to town, 500 metres to Pottsville Beach and 20 minutes to Byron Bay.

The property is for sale through Cushman & Wakefield in conjunction with CBRE via an expression of interest. “There are numerous development opportunities available to this site and it is currently undergoing the development approval process through Tweed Shire Council, with strong preliminary feedback on the proposed manufactured homes comprising of eightyseven individual sites,” the advertisement states. “The property is destined to be transformed into a unique tourism park to suit the surrounding community profile and provide modern tourist accommodation for all visitors.” The Weekly couldn’t find a DA submission for the property apart from one in 2011, however it is
