Thousands registered for Kings Forest

By Jo Kennett THERE HAS been a rush of interest in the first stage of the Kings Forest development, with thousands of people registering their interest in buying land in the $5 billion development to the west of Casuarina, in what is a tight buyers market. When completed, Kings Forest will deliver 4,500 home sites, housing up to 11,000 residents, making it much larger than Kingscliff, which has a population of around 7,500. The 869.3 hectare masterplanned community has been in planning since 1988 and is being developed by Leda Holdings.

The development will include family homes, terrace homes, townhouses and duplexes, as well as a commercial precinct with restaurants, education facilities, a library, sports fields and an over 50s resort. The advertising sign asking for registration of interest in stage one of the development only went up recently on Tweed Coast Road, but desperate buyers have been ringing the phones off the hook. Kings Forest representative Brandon Yeats said the company was committed to starting work this year “sooner rather than later.” “There have been a couple of hurdles, but we are almost there,” Mr Yeats said. “Precinct 5 is stage one of the development and will have 376 lots and a 12 to 18 month construction programme with a staged registration of lots. “Leda is anxious to start work and is still waiting to finalise some outstanding matters with planning authorities.” Mr Yeats told The Weekly the first release would have lots of

Mr Yeats said that Leda has already had “significant interest” in Kings Forest. “We have had around 2,000 people already register their interest,” he told The Weekly “Leda understands how anticipated the Kings Forest development is both locally and to the wider market and we will be keeping everyone updated when we get closer to a fixed commencement date.
