Today, we're

101 and proud of it!

After such a successful first century, it's now time to look ahead to our ·s econd hundred years.

Consider these statistics: Today, SI% of women volunteer their time for charitable causes Today, 8% of women ar,e self-employed Today, 15% of women hold part time jobs Today, 45 % of women in this country work outside the home We live in changing times. The impact of the global economy and the changes in family structure will affect this club just as it will affect every other aspect o f ou.r lives.

One thing we can count on! We, and the women of the future, will be thirsty for " continuing education", for social interaction with peers, for a way to come together to learn, to enjoy, to be stimulated inteUectually, and to d o our best.

What d oes this mean for the C lub? Here·s one scenano to consider. If over 50% of women are working in a paid or volunteer capacity, when is the best time for holding meetings?

To forge ahead, we need the following: --More information on today's memberi.: Who are we m terms of talents, education. interel,tS, and skills? We need a data bank on ourselves.

--What kinds of lectures do we want. what topics do we consider most imponant for o ur "continuing education"?

--What quel>lions and ideas do you have about the future of The Woman's Club?

Please start us off by filling out the attached form and returning it to the club. Postage is already ~aid, so :'11 yo~ need to do is refold the form in thirds, and drop it in your box. We will compile the informat ion this summer and report our findings in the fall newsleuer.
