Thank you to everyone who helped make this inaugural year for the DCA Good Sportsmanship award a success. From the DCA members who submitted nominations to the Good Sportsmanship Award committee who carefully reviewed each nomination and selected this year’s winner, thank you for your time and effort.

As we look forward to 2024’s award, I am asking for help in two areas:

First, we will form a new committee for 2024 to review nominations and select a winner. The committee is comprised of the chair, two board members and six DCA members geographically disbursed across the country representing conformation, companion and performance events.

If you have interest in serving on the 2024 committee, please let me know by emailing me: jmschwalbe@yahoo.com.

I would also appreciate your ideas to help us spread the word about the award and encourage more nominations. To date we have used a two page spread in the DCA Newsletter, hosted a booth at the National Specialty week in 2022 and 2023, used multiple announcements on the DCA Facebook pages, created a dedicated page on the DCA website, and mailed an overview of the award and nomination process to every local club contact listed in the annual membership roster.

If you have other ideas, please let me know using the email address above.

On behalf of the 2023 committee, I want to thank those that submitted nominations for 2023 and thank all of you in advance for your support of the Good Sportsmanship Award.
