Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm ET by President Carl Holder.

Roll Call

Members Present: Carl Holder, Cheryl Shultz, Cindy Niles, Connie Fisher, Debby Krieg, Georjan Bridger, Janet Schwalbe, Kathy Lockyer, Ken Levison, Larry Sorenson, Lorraine Simmons, Monika Martin, Randy Eltringham, Sandy Arnold, Wally Jones, Dan Burke, Vicki Spencer & Denny Van Hook.

MINUTES, MAY 18, 2022–Approval was tabled until next meeting because not everyone had the corrected version for discussion. OPEN

Ratifications

• October 11: Carl to reserve Purina Farms for DCA on May 11-17, 2025, and May 10-16, 2026 (Ratified)

MOTION: Earthdog Dens will be reserved for Saturday & Sunday, with a Friday move-in date, prior to DCA National in 2025 & 2026. MOTION PASSED.

• Oct 25: Carl asked to dedicate DCA 2023 to Charles Baris, Frances Colonna & Jeanine Sudinski (Ratified)

• November 8: Carl asked Board to move up Advertising Deadline for next Newsletter from January 15 to January 1, 2023, due to DCA National dates in March (per Lynne Dahlén) (Ratified)

Report of Officers: Corresponding Secretary: Cheryl Shultz Action items from Corresponding Secretary Report:

MOTION: Cheryl will contact the National Field Trial Chair (Gloria) that the current policy of shipping all plaques for the DCA National Field Trial to the Host Club will remain the same for 2023. MOTION PASSED. OPEN

The Board will defer the issue of shipping plaques to the Host Club for future National Field Trials to the Performance Events Committee (PEC). Cheryl will also notify Sheila that there will not be a change for 2023. OPEN

MOTION: Cheryl will contact Bob & Ann Wlodkowski, Joyce Warren & Monika Martin (present) to ask that they form a committee to look into non-members receiving DCA Awards for the Register of Merit Program and the Top Producers and make any recommendations to the Board. MOTION PASSED. OPEN Lorraine & Connie volunteered to be on this committee.

Treasurer’s Report: Ken Levison

Ken reviewed the financial reports that were sent to the Board just prior to this Zoom meeting.

AKC Delegate’s Report: Larry Sorenson

Larry reports that AKC is planning to move forward with Meet the Breeds in 2023. INFO

Standing Committees: Membership: Georjan Bridger

The Board voted to accept the following applicants into membership: Pamela Mattke (WI), Susan Stejskal (MI) and Margitta Arroyo (NM).

Membership Committee

Continuing to work on Associate Membership.

Performance Events Committee: (Sandy)

MOTION: Add Shawn Nies to PEC. MOTION PASSED. Sandy will notify Tracy that the Board has approved Shawn to the PEC. OPEN

Special Committees: DCA 2023 (Carl)

MOTION: To let Lorraine Simmons judge at DCA 2023. MOTION PASSED.

The Board will revisit specifications for determining quarantine restrictions for DCA National Specialty judging contracts. OPEN

Raffle/Silent Auction (Monika)

MOTION: DCA will accept the donation of items from Ben Klimkiewicz’s Estate that were given to Met Washington Dach Club and will be shared with DCA for the Silent Auction--proceeds will be split between DCA & MWDC 50/50. MOTION PASSED. CLOSED

Nomination Committee for 2023

Without Objection, Sandy Arnold will Chair the 2023 Nomination Committee.

The Board nominated and voted the following members to serve on the Nomination Committee, per their acceptance:

Laura Abbott-Licht, James Hall, Ryan Horvath, Paul Martin Alternates: Delores Belden, Liz Heywood OPEN

New Business:

Without Objection, Monika will contact Gina Leone to let her know that she can refer people to view her work on the DCA Illustrated Standard by referring them to the DCA Website. OPEN

Cheryl recommended that DCA contact the Holiday Inn in Eureka, MO to reserve dates with the hotel if we reserve the dates with Purina Farms in 2025 & 2026. OPEN

The Board discussed having a Zoom Meeting prior to DCA to minimize the time spent at the meeting at the National. Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 7 pm ET was agreed upon.

Next meeting date (in person): Tuesday, March 21, 2023 in Eureka, MO
