FROM THE COMPOSER: Pernambuco is a true Grade ½ Beginning Orchestra piece. It is in D Major, 4/4 time and uses only the one octave D Major Scale. The repeated rhythm for much of the piece is different from many other beginning pieces as the two eighth notes are on beat three. Starting with the title of the piece, Pernambuco has many teaching elements and is an interesting piece for beginning orchestras.
