key of Bb major, and uses pri mari ly t he fi rst 7 notes learned on each i nst rument . charact er, and t he melody i s r emi ni scent of an ol d American f olk t une. Thi s

ch a

mel ody reappears in several di f fer ent context s – I n fact, each i nst rument plays the mel ody at one point i n t he pi ece. The mi ddle sect ion is marked Regal ,

whi ch means, fi t for a ki ng. This sect i on i s l ivel y, and j oyful, soundi ng much li ke a march, and t he musi c bui lds wit h t he primary melody pl ayed in canon.
