MASKS

3-D Strap

TUSA’s patented 3-D strap is a true three-dimensional design that snugly fits against the head’s natural curvature. The 3-D strap offers unprecedented comfort and fit unlike standard flat mask straps.

Round Edge Skirt

TUSA’s Round Edge Skirt features a proprietary round edge cross-sectionally shaped skirt. This rounded edge results in a soft fit that suppresses pressure and reduces creasing left on the face. The “planar fit, instead of linear fit” silicone skirt maintains great fit and unprecedented comfort.

5 Angle Strap Adjustor

The 5 Angle Strap Adjustor allows for a five position micro-adjustment on both the left and right sides of the mask. This enables vertical (up/down) and horizontal (left/right) pressure on the face to be delicately adjusted for the optimum fit.

Hyperdry Purge

Clearing a mask has never been easier thanks to our patented Hyperdry System. Simply breathe out through your nose and any water that has accumulated in your mask is forced out through a one-way purge valve. Once the mask is clear, the valve seals shut.

Panoramic View

Panoramic View masks feature a variety of designs offering an incredibly wide field-ofview. Several designs incorporate minimum frame volumes, domed side-windows, reduced frame structures as well as three and four window styles for maximum vision.

Rx Lens

Rx lenses are offered on several styles of masks. This option allows the diver to choose right and left lens powers in both a variety of diopters for maximum flexibility and for a custom fit.

M-14

• Reduced inner volume compared to traditional single-lens masks

• Five angle strap adjustor

• 2.5 times increase in field of vision

Features

• Reduced inner volume

The lens and frame have been made bigger, but since the distance between the lens and the eyes has been reduced, the inner volume has actually been reduced in comparison with other traditional single-lens masks. Thus, clearing the mask, as before, is easy to do. Since the fitting line is large in proportion to the large size of the mask and because of the thinness of the frame, the mask is also more resistant to moving even in a current.

• Five angle strap adjustor

The M-14 features a five-position strap angle adjustor to make fine adjustments for the vertical fitting of the mask possible. By making changes and setting the left and right strap angles, fine adjustments to the vertical fitting, which were not possible on masks until now, can be made quickly and easily.

SNORKELS

Hyperdry MAX System

TUSA’s Hyperdry MAX System (pat p.) is the latest innovation in dry snorkel technology utilizing two independent high buoyancy floats for superior dry performance. This revolutionary design keeps the snorkel completely dry by quickly and efficiently closing the gasket when waves or water hits the snorkel.

Hyperdry System

The Hyperdry System keeps the main pipe dry by ejecting water through an independent escape pipe. This unique design utilizes the angle of the snorkel pipe and the resilience of the water surface to eject water.

Comfort Swivel

The Comfort Swivel offers a more comfortable fit since it creates no load on the mouthpiece, straightens out during diving and doesn't get in the way. The swivel adapter makes it possible to slip the mask strap into the slit with no hassles. The two-part construction allows the snorkel to rotate and can be attached in a horizontal position.

High Flow Purge

The High Flow Purge design used on TUSA snorkels offers a covered large diameter purge valve for simple, quick clearing, reducing the amount of water remaining in the mouthpiece in an instant.

• Oversized drain chamber and oval purge valve

The SP-580 has a special internal purge channel located below the mouthpiece which deflects exhaled air out the top of the snorkel while excess water drains through the bottom purge valve.

• High flow channel and purge valve

Since the purge valve is at an angle to the body, after clearing the snorkel, even if water remains in the chamber it will not affect the flow of air in the pipe (away from the mouth). Therefore, there is no gurgling of water caused by breathing, and water does not return to the mouth. Also, air bubbles that come from the valve pass by the side of the face without obstructing the field of view.

Propeller Technology

TUSA’s advanced split fins employ Propeller-FinTM Technology, which delivers ultra-high performance with a low amplitude rapid flutter kick. As the fin moves through the water its two wing-shaped surfaces create lift and forward propulsion like a propeller. Any water traveling over the top of the blade is funneled into and out of the split between the blades. Efficiency is increased while drag and effort is reduced.

Angled Blade Design (A.B.D.)

TUSA’s Angled Blade Design is employed on the SF-15, SF-8 and SF-6 fins. A standard flat fin inhibits propulsion solely by fault of design. An angle between the heel of the foot and the calf of the leg remains when the leg is extended to kick. This angle causes 10% of the propulsion to be lost. The Angled Blade Design accommodates for this anatomical characteristic and ensures maximum efficiency throughout the kicking cycle.

EZ Strap and Buckle System

TUSA’s EZ strap and Buckle System allows fins to be quickly and easily adjusted with minimal effort. Adjustment can be made while the fins are worn, allowing for a precise fit and ease of removal when necessary.

H.B.S. (Hybrid Blade System)

The patented Hybrid Blade System offers unparalleled propulsion, efficiency and power transfer in a multi-compound design.

The H.B.S. is composed of incredibly stiff urethane side rails and an ultra-responsive membrane blade giving unlimited kicking potential.

A standard flat fin inhibits propulsion solely by fault of design. An angle between the heel of the foot and the calf of the leg remains when the leg is extended to kick. This angle causes 10% of the propulsion to be lost. TUSA’s patented 27°angled blade design employed on the SF-15 X-Pert Zoom Z-3 accommodates for this anatomical characteristic and ensures maximum efficiency throughout the kicking cycle. This means that 100% of the energy expended during the kicking phase is used for forward diver propulsion. Simply, TUSA’s SF-15 X-Pert Zoom Z-3 maximizes the efficiency and performance of a split fin by combining the 27° technology with enhanced composite materials and a revolutionary blade design.

• TUSA’s unique Advanced Multi-Flex Blade, made from 3 different materials

Fins with world-class efficiency, making the most of your energy

In 1993 TUSA introduced the SF-7700 (IMPREX fin) to the market. This fin achieves strong propulsion by combining two different materials to create an efficient water channeling action. Since it first went on sale, over 600,000 divers have used it worldwide. The IMPREX fin has been the undisputed leader in the plastic fin market. Now, ten years later, it is moving to the next development stage. The next generation IMPREX Tri-Ex fin utilizes three different materials. First is the side rib (hard material), efficiently converting the energy of a kick into propelling power. Second is the blade (medium-hard material), increasing the efficiency of the water channel. Third is the soft pocket (soft material), enhancing the fitting comfort of the boots. The designers expanded the blade angle theory that had produced a strong propulsion force with only a light kick in the SF-8 model. A fin testing robot was used to analyze on a computer the propulsion (speed) and the electrical load when

kicking. Tests were also run using real divers in a water circulating pool. These tests were repeated many times, the result being that the blade angle was set at 20 degrees, the most comfortable for the diver. A smooth shape was also created, with no level differences between the foot pocket and blade. This means that compared with conventional products, less initial load (energy) is required when first starting to kick. The excellent fit and non-wasteful transmission of energy ensures that body fatigue and air consumption is minimized.

• Propeller-fin™ technology and super lightweight design achieve the high performance with less effort

• 27° Angled design for maximum kicking efficiency

• TUSA patented EZ Strap and Buckle System

• Angled design for maximum kicking efficiency

27° Tech Reasons

When using the standard, flat fin, propulsion is inhibited solely by fault of design. When the leg is completely extended, there remains an angle of 27 degrees between the heel of the foot and the calf of the leg, as shown in the diagram. This 27-degree angle causes 10% of the propulsion that is produced by the kicking motion to be lost. Because the fin is angled below the body, during the kick phase, the body is pushed up and toward, instead of straight ahead. With a normal flat fin, 10% of the diver’s exertion to propel him forward is lost by battling this upward force. With the SF-8 fin, that 27-degree angle has been incorporated into the fin. This means that when the leg is fully extended, even though the angle exists between the foot and calf, the fin ends up parallel to the leg. 100% of the energy expended during the kicking phase is directed toward the propulsion of the diver.

• Balanced diaphragm type first stage

The balanced diaphragm system features a minimum variation in intermediate pressure in the relation to changes in residual tank pressure. The diaphragm first stage also offers excellent performance in all water conditions due to its sealed design.

Features

• High flow low pressure ports

Two high flow ports are engineered for the smoothest air delivery possible to the primary second stage and octopus at all tank pressures.

• Cold water insulation system

The R-400 first stage features a special coating on the main spring to ensure that the regulator performs in all diving conditions.

• Available in Yoke or 300 bar DIN

The regulator first stage can be converted from a yoke connection to a 300 bar DIN connection.

IR-3

N/A in Europe

The IR-3 is a downstream backup regulator that also provides you with easy-to-operate buoyancy control. The Inflator Regulator is positioned at the end of the buoyancy compensator hose --the ideal location for quick, efficient use. Because you use it as your power inflator, you always know where it's located. Plus, the Inflator Regulator cuts down on hose clutter because you use the same hose to supply both the power inflator and the backup regulator.

• Air balanced power inflator valve

Waist Support System (W.S.S.)

The Waist Support System significantly enhances comfort and fit by dispersing the weight load around the hips. The W.S.S. integrates the adjustable shoulder harness system with the rear stabilizing plate and cummerbund to effectively unload the hips while ensuring a snug fit.

Ultimate Stabilizing Harness (U.S.H.)

TUSA’s Ultimate Stabilizing Harness completely eliminates tank roll and delivers an amazing fit. The U.S.H. securely holds the air cylinder in place with optimally placed rails and brings the tank closer to the body increasing tank control while reducing weight.

Independent Harness System (I.H.S.)

The Independent Harness System isolates the BC jacket’s harness from the air cell, tightly supporting the tank even with changes in air cell inflation/deflation. The I.H.S. prevents tank slippage and eliminates any gaps between the tank and your back.

3-D Air Cell

The 3-D Cubic Air Cell allows for greater internal volume (lift) in a more compact and streamlined design. The 3-D cell increases diver comfort by expanding outwardly away from the body eliminating that “squeezed” feeling upon inflation. It also maximizes efficiency by keeping you more streamlined underwater.

3-D Hybrid Cubic Air Cell

The 3-D Hybrid Cubic Air Cell combines the features of a wrap-around style BCJ and a back-inflation BCJ into a unique streamlined hybrid design. The air cell offers increased lift capacity over standard back-inflation jackets and a more streamlined, comfortable fit underwater and on the surface.

A.W.L.S. (Advanced Weight Loading System)

TUSA’s patented Advanced Weight Loading System (A.W.L.S.) allows the diver to insert weight into both left and right weight cartridges eliminating the need for a weight belt. Rear trim pockets combine with the A.W.L.S. to optimally balance the weight load on each TUSA integrated BC jacket.

Cylindrical tanks are inherently unstable because they are prone to roll around. Most hard harness type BC jackets are basically designed like a flat board onto which the tank is strapped, and this inevitably leads to tank roll. TUSA BC jackets, on the other hand, fix the tank solidly in place with two rails - our Ultimate Stabilizing Harness. This system completely eliminates tank roll and delivers an amazing fit. And since the tank can be held that much closer to the body, the tank feels lighter too.

38 lbf. (=17.3kgf., =170N)

46 lbf. (=20.9kgf., =205N)

• Ultimate stabilizing harness

This harness brings the tank extremely close to the diver's body, correcting the tendency to tilt back. Just like with a seesaw, the closer the tank is carried to the body, the lighter it feels.

Features [PAT.P.]

TUSA’s Active Purge Assist system is a revolutionary new BCJ accessory technology. This pneumatically assisted purge system and newly designed OPEV (Over Pressure Exhaust Valve) offers significantly enhanced flow rates over a standard inflator system, which allows for immediate purge and inflation response. Additionally, the A.P.A. is incredibly streamlined reducing drag and bulkiness. The system is designed for low-maintenance and easy care reducing inflator malfunctions and is optional on all TUSA BCJ’s or as an add-on replacement accessory.

JACKETS

Vibrating Alarm

TUSA is the world’s only equipment manufacturer with vibrating alarm technology. This patented unique alarm function is similar to the vibration setting on most cellular telephones. The user is alerted to important dive data with several vibrations instead of an audible alarm that can distract your dive partners.

Audible Alarm

TUSA’s computers feature audible and visual alarms for the most important dive data warnings. Ascent rate, maximum depth, no decompression limits, safety stop and several other key data can be set to alert the diver.

2 Gas Mix

This feature allows the diver to preset two Nitrox gas mixtures (Mix 1 and Mix 2) for easy switching during the dive as necessary. Mix 1: 21 to 50%, Mix 2: 21 to 99%.

PC Downloadable

TUSA’s Divelogbook and TUSA DataLog PC interfaces allow the diver to transfer complete log and profile history from the dive computer to a personal computer or upload user settings to the computer. A PC interface unit is sold separately.

Air Integration

TUSA’s Zen Integration technology allows a diver to monitor depth, dive time and tank pressure accurately and safely in a single glance. The need for bulky analog gauge consoles is gone. TUSA’s alphanumeric digital display conveys air data efficiently each updated second.

Hoseless Transmitter combines the accuracy of air integration with wireless data transmission resulting in a next generation ultra-compact wrist-top dive computer – the Zen Air.

User Replaceable Battery

Convenience and ease-of-maintenance is imperative in the design of today’s dive computer. Each of TUSA’s computers offer a user-friendly replaceable battery that can be changed on a moment’s notice using standard widely-distributed batteries.

Backlit Display

Several TUSA computer instruments feature a backlit display for night diving or low-light situations. The bright backlight is activated by a touch of a button and the duration can be set for up to 10 seconds in length enabling the diver to view critical dive data easily and quickly.

We at Tabata Co., Ltd. would like to extend our thanks for your past and continued support. At Tabata, our goal has always been to provide our users with innovative equipment of the highest quality. As testimony to our commitment of developing and manufacturing high quality equipment with exacting standards, Tabata has been certified by the international standards organization quality standards ISO 9001 for Tabata Japan and Tabata Taiwan. The ISO certification is synonymous with international quality assurance standards and embodies our goal to excel in the development of innovative products with unsurpassed quality. "Providing the quality that represents our commitment to the user," we express as the "Heart and Quality." Once again, we thank you for your continued support. The "Heart and Quality" will continue through future product innovation and our relations with you our valued customer.

For the sake of the highest safety, we at TUSA plan and develop our products based on the ISO 9001 standards. We subject all our products to repeated stringent testing before sending them out into the market. For example, a major theme for regulators is "to always provide stable, natural breathing in the water, regardless of the water depth or the amount of pressure left in the tank". At TUSA, as we develop new products, we repeat the inhalation and exhalation resistance tests over and over with the ANSTI Regulator Performance System in the search for ideal breathing.

We subject all the regulators we have put together to this testing before we ship them. We test inhalation and exhalation resistance, test on the intermediate pressure inspector machine and inspect to make sure that the intermediate pressure value is as set. Everyday we are working hard to send products out into the market that our customers can rely on at all times. Naturally, this attitude applies not only to regulators, but to BCJs, gauges, and all our other products as well. Into all our masks, snorkels, fins, and all our equipment, we biuld in our pride and sense of responsibility as an ISO 9001 certified equipment manufacturer.
