turtle explorationbaypark Walk for Wildlife is an active, family-friendly fundraiser to help support our Animal Ambassadors at Turtle Bay! Explore our beautiful campus gardens and meet our Animal Ambassadors up close along the route. Enjoy a complimentary pancake breakfast courtesy of the Shasta Dam Kiwanis Club with your ticket after the walk! Animal Ambassador Plushies will be available for purchase in Paul Bunyan's Forest Camp and a commemorative race bib included with the ticket. The cost per person is $60 for members and $75 for non-members, and includes admission to Turtle Bay Exploration Park for the day. Booking must be a minimum of one week in advance and guests must be 8 years or older to meet him. Turtle Bayʼs beloved animal ambassador, Timber the beaver, is who Sharon Clay, the Curator of Animal Programs calls “a gentle giant.” Timber came to Turtle Bay when he was only 7 weeks old and is excited about his human interactions.

Turtle Bay offers a special Behind the Scenes opportunity with him so he gets his fill of socializatoin. During this special encounter, visitors will go into Timberʼs exhibit with him, be face to face, and even get an opportunity to feed “Guestshim.

Pterosaurs: Ancient Rulers of the Sky is an exhibition from ScienceWorks in Ashland, Oregon. Pterosaurs explores the majesty and wonder of a genera of flying reptiles who lived between the Late Triassic through the Late Cretaceous Periods of the Mesozoic Era. That was between 66 and 228 million years ago! exhibition is a truly immersive experience with diverse ways for all ages to engage both their minds and bodies in the pursuit of in-depth knowledge of these prehistoric flying reptiles,” says Julia Cronin, Curator of Collections and Exhibits at Turtle Bay. This interactive exhibit allows you to translate your own creativity and imagination into striking digital projections by using your fingers as paintbrushes to both color and animate several species of pterosaurs. Art Studio Saturday is an open studio art program for guests of all ages to explore their creativity and try something new. Whether you want to take a quick art break or relax, get comfortable and make your masterpiece, you can join us in the classroom to get started, all materials included!

Art Studio Saturday: Cotton Swab Pointillism

For our second Art Studio Saturday program, we are exploring Pointillism! Anyone can join and make a pointillist masterpiece using cotton swabs to paint dot art. Great for all ages and abilities, no registration required, free for members, included with paid admisssion.
