Lisbon High School Alumni Zoe Buteau Crowned Serves In Us Navy All American and Schoolgirl National Wrestling Champ Lisbon High School Class of 2014 alumni, Courtney R. Martel, enlisted in the United States Navy on June 23, 2014. Martel completed basic training at the Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois on August 22, 2014, and the Quarter Master Class “A” school in November 2014. Courtney is currently stationed on the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Paul Hamilton, with her homeport of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Martel is the daughter of Lisa and Robert Martel of Lisbon and Melony Martel of York. n
Lisbon Students Assist Rotary With Movie Event
May 15th through 17th Zoe Buteau attended the the All Girls National Wrestling Freestyle Championship in Irving Texas and beat a National Freestyle Wrestling Champion 14-13 for the title of All American and Schoolgirl National Champion. Zoe is 14 and is from Wales, she attends Oak Hill Middle School. She is following in her brother Danny’s footsteps, he is a 2 time Class B State Wrestling Champion.

On Saturday, April 18 many students were starting their school vacation week. A select number of Lisbon junior volunteers from Lisbon Community School, Philip W. Sugg Middle School and Lisbon High School started their week of no school by assisting the LewistonAuburn Rotary Club at a movie event held at the Auburn Flagship Cinema. The Rotary fellowship project, in conjunction with the Autism Society of Maine, was in support of children with autism. Families and their children were invited to attend the event free of charge as guests of Rotary group. All guests received complimentary popcorn and drinks.
