she should apply. She did, and fresh out of college, she was hired as what she calls “a one-man band” or a Multi-media Specialist. This means she usually shoots her own video for her special reports and interviews. She had learned well how to handle a television camera while at Lyndon State, and she shared that she is “…just as comfortable behind the camera as in front of it.” In her conversation with the three classrooms she pointed out a unique occurrence at WCSH. Sixth grade teacher Tracy Goodwin-Smith wanted to expose her students to someone local who had worked hard in school and found a good career as one result. A friend’s daughter came to mind. Amanda Hill, a 2003 Leavitt High School graduate, had also spent three years at Tracy’s school, Turner Elementary. Hill’s career is as a Multimedia Specialist for WCSH (Channel 6) in Portland. Amanda Hill, a Multi-Media Specialist with WCSH 6, chats with sixth grade students at Turner Elementary School. Hill was a 2003 graduate of Leavitt Area High School and spent three years of her schooling at the elementary school she visited on April 6. She was invited by teacher Tracy Goodwin-Smith to talk about what her job involved, but more importantly, why it is critical that you work hard in school because it will pay off in many ways later in life. She explained that she had met a Lyndon State graduate who worked at Channel 6 and he told her
