Auburn police officers come into contact with traumatized children each and every day. These kids may be accident victims or crime victims, witnesses to a crime or traumatic event, even lost, sick or injured. Quite often, they are witnesses to domestic vio-

Washington Street Temporary Road Closure Due to our winter weather conditions, the Washington Street project has been postponed again. It has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 7th. On February 7th, the Auburn Sewer District will be repairing a 12” sanitary sewer line at 5 Washington St North (near Roys). Auburn Police Department yielded a phenomenal response from staff at FISC Solutions in Lewiston. FISC employees donated more than 100 new stuffed animals that police officers will distribute to children in the community to help ease their pain or fear. “We really appreciate such generosity,” said Chief Phil Crowell. “A simple gift like a stuffed animal can help our officers remind a child in distress that they are safe and that the police can protect them from harm.” n
