A FORMER Nottingham Trent University student has been jailed for seven years for raping a woman. American football player Ally Maxamed, 24, pleaded guilty to the attack and was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register. During the rape, he held his victim down by the neck and ignored her when she begged him to stop, Nottingham Crown Court heard. Judge Gregory Dickinson QC told Maxamed: ‘She made it clear to you that nothing intimate was to take place. ‘You pestered her for sex. You pinned her face-down into the bed, squeezing her neck. From

was crying. She pleaded with him to stop. ‘He hit her across the face. She went to a housemate’s room and crawled into a corner crying. ‘The defendant followed her and he kept banging on the door. Such was the force, the door came off its hinges. ‘The housemate stood in front of her to stop the defendant getting to her.’ An online profile for Maxamed claimed he played guard for the Nottingham Renegades American football team. A university spokesperson only spoke to confirm he did not captain the team and that the incident did not take place at an NTU residence.
