Please join us for Sisterhood’s Summer Book Club, when we read the unusual true story Red Notice, a book by Bill Browder. Part John Grisham-like thriller, part business and political memoir, it is a real-life tale of espionage, high finance and political intrigue about what happens when one man decides to expose corruption in the Russian government. The hero is born into an academic Jewish family with communist leanings. What does he do as a young college student to rebel? He enrolls in Stanford Business School, becomes a capitalist, and moves to Russia, where he becomes the largest private investor, making billions of dollars when Russia allows private citizens to invest in companies in the late 1990s.

Sisterhood would appreciate your reservation for brunch and the meeting. Cost is $12 per person. Deadline for reservations is May 28, 2019. Mail your check, payable to B’nai Emunah Sisterhood, to: Carol Mandlebaum, 8239 South Evanston Avenue, Tulsa 74137 using the reservation form elsewhere in this edition. If you wish to pay by credit card, please call Carol at (918) 407-5282. MAH JONGG CARDS

What starts out as an ingenious business opportunity becomes a story of government corruption, the murderous Putin regime and one man’s fight for justice. It is the story of Mr. Browder taking on overpowering odds to change the world and how, without intending to, he found meaning in his life.

Nancy Cohen has announced the arrival of the 2019 Mah Jongg cards, which are now on sale in the Sisterhood Gift Shop. There are two sizes available. The Standard Version retails for $8 and the Large Print Version retails for $9. The Gift Shop is also showing a number of fun and colorful Mah Jongg gift items, great for hosting Mah Jongg games or to give as gifts.

Our discussion, facilitated by Alice Blue with Dr. Bob Donaldson, will be held on Wednesday, June 12, at the Synagogue at 7:00 p.m. Order a copy and start reading today!

Remember that purchases at the Sisterhood Gift Shop make the Sisterhood’s annual donation to the Religious School possible. Do your Judaica shopping at the Sisterhood Gift Shop!
