Fixings The fixings required will depend on the material that is being fixed into and the size of the sheet being used. You may require fixing screws with seal caps that can minimize any chances of splitting during installation, while also protecting the head of the screws from rusting over time. It is advisable to drill larger holes than the fixings, to allow for expansion. Also, never nail through the trough; instead, nail through the corrugation peak. And remember, the sheets should overlap by at least two corrugations, and overhang the eaves by around 5 cm, for effective rainwater runoff. Afte rsuch placement, the fixing nails should be screwed or hammered at every

corrugation peak at the top and bottom, and every two sheets in the middle.

Barge covers and ridge pieces Although the above placement and fixing will ensure effective rainwater runoff, but it’s always better to ensure a fully watertight finish too, at the roof apex and verge. The barge covers, matching the profile of the corrugated sheets, should be fixed over the last corrugated sheet, folded down over the board, and nailed down. The ridges keep the corrugated sheets flexible enough to form any required angle. You must thus lay the pieces square to the ridge and nail in every other corrugation. The ridge pieces should be overlaid and fixed and both the sides of the roof slope, and terminated by lapping over a finial that matches the ridge profile, and is fixed onto the verge.

Foam fillers You may use foam sheets to fill any gaps at the top and bottom of the corrugated roofing sheets, in order to prevent water, dust, and insect penetration. These sheets are fixed by drilling down from the roofing sheet above, through the filler, and into the purlins below.

Drip edge You may install a drip edge onto the roof, angled away from the fascia to direct rainwater away from the roof. These are noncorrosive fixings that also protect the roof against water and insects crawling in through the roof.
