GUESS WHAT A FRESHMAN IS
To a freshman, high school is an anticipated nightmare
Comng from eighth grade, where we were on the top of the heap, to beg1n again at the bottom. requires lots of adjustment
Hearing from parents. older brothers and sisters, and from tough-sounding upperclassmen what to expect can be frightening Tales of orientation and initiation can be intimidating
As reality sets in, however, we discover those seniors. far from being threats, are helpful, thoughtful Big Brothers and Sisters Orientation, dreaded as a plot to confuse us, turns out to be a way to help us. Initiation proves to be more fun than fnght, especially with the chance to buy senior slaves, to retaliate for our embarrassment. Even the teachers are found to be human.
As the year progresses, we discover more about our school. our world. our faith, and ourselves. The warmth and the family environment help us through a difficult but rewarding time as freshmen.

GUESS WHAT A SOPHOMORE IS
Sophomore- the word comes from the Greek "sophos," meaning WISE, and "moros," for FOOL.
What a fitting description of sophomores in general! Sometimes we can be incredibly intelligent; at other times, we act so goofy and off-the-wall that we even amaze ourselves
Simply put, being sophomores means we are no longer freshmen . We have one year of high school under our belts, and so we're much more self-confident
We need confidence to face the greatest thrill, the supreme challenge of sophomore year : driving. Being able to drive means we can visit friends, almost whenever we want
As individuals, we sophomores pride ourselves on being more independent As a class, we seek to become closer to one another, friendlier to others, more mature in our ways, and better able to serve God .

GUESS WHAT A JUNIOR IS
Junior year means memories of what we've done so far, but also means challenges to be met
We recall so well our freshman year, meeting all those new people who would influence our lives We remember so vividly the opportunities , the camaraderie, the pride It was a year of beginnings
Then came sophomore year, which meant growing closer, experiencing new classes. new teachers . There were hours in the computer room, time for recreation, and a trip back to the fifties with the school play.
Now it's time to create more memories, as we face the challenges of junior year looking at colleges, thinking about careers, planning for Prom
We've never doubted the value of our friends and our time together, but now we begin to feel, for real, the value of our education at Seton Catholic High.

GUESS WHAT A SENIOR IS
One word best describes the Class of '90 diverse We have a variety of personalities, of interests, of talents Yet, as diverse as we are, the seniors are united. Unity 1s one spec1al element at a small school, and we have it
As leaders of the school, we hope we have extended that unity beyond our own class, to include all four years . We genuinely care about the others, especially our Little Brothers and S1sters, the freshmen.
We are finishing our preparations for life in this, our senior year, and we feel we have nothing but the best to look forward to.
Seton has prepared us well. Already we are armed with facts, figures, formulas, terms, and techniques. We have also built solid relationships here Most of all, we have grown, physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially, thanks to all the special people at Seton Catholic High

WRESTLING BOWS IN
In 1989. wrestling became a part of the athletic program at Seton With the generosity of a benefactor. the expertise of the coaches. the enthusiasm of the Mat Maids. the dedication of the team itself. the first year of Sentinel wrestling was an impressive one.
Besides traveling to compete against conference foes. Coach Mixer took the boys to several tournaments and hosted some matches. In each case. Seton wrestlers accounted well for themselves. even against much more experienced opponents.
Injuries and forfeits cost Seton several victories, but with each outing our wrestlers gained poise. confidence. and skill
Assisting Coach Matt Mixer this year were Mr. AI Hagen. Mr Joe Crowder, and Mr. Don Knudsen

TO MY DAUGHTER , MIMI
I feel so fortunate
To have you for a daughter
I love your bright face
When we talk seriously about the world
I love your smile
When you laugh at the inconsistencies in the world
I love your eyes
When you are showing emotion
I love your mind
when you are discovering new ideas
I love your ideas
When you are creating new concepts and imaginary dreams
Many people tell me
They cannot talk to their children
That they cannot wait
For them to leave home
I want you to know
That not only do I enjoy you
I look forward to any time
We can spend together
As you get older
Not only will you always be my adored daughter
But you Will always be my dear friend
As your mother
I am so proud of you
And my love for you just keeps getting stronger and stronger
Good luck to Mommy's future doctor
Love, Mom and your baby sister
