Past the gates, this nine-residence enclave unfolds in long, clean lines, time-honored natural textures, and highly original forms. Contemporary thoughts in the field of architecture combine with traditional materials and construction methods in a fresh, new “bold world architecture� built to be savored without categorization. Echo confidently exemplifies the next generation of superior/classic architecture for the fashion-forward desert lifestyle.

Echo’s “bold world architecture” becomes one with its rugged yet majestic desert surroundings.

Flooring flows from interior to exterior and out into the landscape creating a striking interaction between home and nature. Native flora edges up to the living areas to further join the two.

Mountainous panoramas are framed by expansive walls of glass in the spacious great room and master bedroom, engaging the distant vista as well as the near. In a clean, crisp design technique, walls continue from the indoor spaces to the outdoors in one, long beautiful sightline.

Harmony in Balance Throughout the home, a warm palette of natural materials, presented in their raw textures, juxtaposes sleek, contemporary finishes. Cut stone accent walls, smooth and textured stucco in neutral hues, glass, black steel, concrete, white oak, and other natural woods have been curated in a serene visual interplay. The overall effect is simple and monotone, clean and unadorned, organic yet refined.

Modern style and amenities are integrated, from indirect skylights to bathe the walls in natural light to intuitive separations of space. Hardwood and large-format concrete floors pair with Fleetwood doors and windows, inviting a seamless indoor-outdoor experience. The Architect Sean Lockyer | Studio AR&D Sean Lockyer brings an authentic aesthetic to Echo and a genuine perspective with regards to its architecture and design. His diverse portfolio of award-winning work spans private estates to public spaces.

Lockyer is the lead/principal architect at Studio AR&D Architects, an innovative architecture, design, and construction firm with offices in Los Angeles and Palm Springs. He eagerly accepted the opportunity to originate an entire upscale community versus a single custom home.

From dramatic point of entry to tranquil inner courtyard, Lockyer’s creativity is palpable both in the exacting details and in the masterful siting of each home.

The Developer Esotero Group With a love for architecture, design and the natural world, brothers Byron and Eric Smith have set out to redefine and elevate everyday living. Byron, a former PGA tour player, and Eric, a former head golf professional at an exclusive Lake Tahoe club, are desert natives.

After successful careers in golf and extensive world travels, they returned home with their young families to begin this exciting endeavor with their father, Bob Smith, founding president of the civil engineering firm MSA consulting, Inc. With Esotero Group their objective is to create a platform for the most talented architects to freely explore new concepts in lifestyle design utilizing the surrounding environment in a dynamic way. Echo at Rancho Mirage, their inaugural project, is an exceptional contribution to the new wave of culturally relevant architecture in the Coachella valley.
