There is now a wider range of funded training opportunities for people wishing to enter the logistics and construction sector which offers a huge variety of careers. From technical jobs to dealing with customers, to international jobs, working behind-the-scenes, jobs on the road and in the warehouse or within a construction environment – there is something for everyone. Logistic and Construction QCF’s are for unemployed individuals or employees who are looking to gain extra qualifications and training within the sector, whilst also formalising their skills and knowledge. At Transport Training Academy we offer a comprehensive range of driving courses. Our course portfolio is not only designed for individuals wishing to enter into the industry as a new career but also for companies wanting to enhance and develop their most valuable asset –their drivers.

CAREFULLY DESIGNED ACCREDITED COURSES

Our courses are tailored to meet the requirements of all our customers and we will work with you to devise the most effective and efficient way of delivering the training. Whilst we fully understand the industry operations and the restraints that training can cause, we are true advocates of the positive outcomes and benefits that driver development brings to the industry, the individual and the company.

All our courses are designed with a defined structure with clear learning aims, objectives and outcomes to ensure that our candidates have an enjoyable experience in their personal development.

TTA are accredited by the DVSA to conduct both MOD3a (off road manoeuvres) and MOD4 examination at our Centre in Atherton, using our own examiners.

Our warehouse and plant operative course portfolio has been designed to incorporate the large range of disciplines that are used on a daily basis, not only within the logistics industry but by many different sectors and trades.

DELIVERED BY HIGHLY EXPERIENCED INSTRUCTORS

All of our warehouse and plant operative courses are delivered by our team of accredited and highly experienced instructors and are tailored to your specific requirements. Our courses can be delivered

at our purpose-built premises which have been designed to simulate a warehouse operation or on your own business premises (subject to risk assessment).

OPERATE EQUIPMENT SAFELY & CORRECTLY

With varying courses ranging from 1-5 days, training can be undertaken on a variety of Lift Truck disciplines on our Fork Lift Truck and Mechanical Handling Equipment course and will enable the participant to operate the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.

Our Lorry Mounted Loading Equipment (HIAB) course will enable the candidate to operate the lifting equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Our Transportable Truck (Moffett Mounty) course and Pivot Steer (Bendi or Flexi) course provide the candidates with the underpinning knowledge to be able to operate the machine using the correct code of practice in manoeuvring and load evaluation.

The full day Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) course has been designed to train candidates in the safety aspects relating to MEWP’s and develop their skills involved in the operation.

INSTRUCTOR & MANAGEMENT COURSES

These courses are designed to develop and enhance the skills of individuals who are looking to become the instructors and managers of the future and who have the passion to nurture the next generation of operatives and drivers.

INSTRUCTOR & MANAGEMENT COURSES

TRAINING THE INSTRUCTORS & MANAGEMENT

Our Train the Trainer courses will provide the delegate with the necessary knowledge, skills, understanding and confidence to effectively deliver both practical and theoretical training sessions. The MHE/FLT course develops the individual to enable them to certificate operators.

Based across 3 days, our Green Band (Safed) Instructor course will motivate, educate and develop selected drivers as driver trainers, enabling the company to provide fuel efficient driver training and development as and when needed.

Our Driver Assessor course will enable the participant to implement a robust driver development strategy which in turn will increase the profitability of the company.

Our LGV Instructor course will convert the candidates knowledge and skills within the relevant LGV category (C1, C and CE) to the required standard in order to develop and enhance other individuals.

The National Register of LGV Instructors, NRI course provides candidates with the skills necessary to prepare drivers for the DVSA Cat C and CE driving tests, to deliver Driver CPC training, and to carry out corrective training.

Taking 10 days, the CILT (UK) Level 3 Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Manager course is suitable for individuals who want to either enter the profession of a Transport Manager or demonstrate their professional competence to meet Operator Licensing requirements.

RTITB Lift Truck Operator Instructor Training is the ideal course for the person with little or no previous experience of instructing who will be required to train, test and certificate new or existing operators.

The 2 day Manual Handling Instructor course has been designed to equip the candidate with the knowledge and skills to be able to instruct others to carry out manual handling tasks safely and without or risk of injury.

Although few workplaces are the same, our short course portfolio has been designed in order to assist you in the management of health and safety and the risks associated with your individual establishment.

WHAT OUR SHORT COURSES ENTAIL

Looking for first aid training? We provide two courses that have been designed for anyone who may need to provide first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill at work, they cover a large range of injuries and illnesses. A tight-fitting face piece is only as good as the fit itself and any break in the seal can lead to a risk to an employee’s health. Our Qualitative Face Fit course will help you protect your workforce by ensuring that the correct RPE is tested, fitted and worn correctly to give maximum protection and to meet your legal obligations.

Taking a minimum of 4 hours, our Fire Safety Awareness course is designed for delegates to recognise and deal with different types of fires and assist in their prevention and site evacuation.

The half day Manual Handling course has been designed to equip the candidate with the knowledge and skills to be able to carry out manual handling tasks safely and without risk of injury.

We have a specific course in Abrasive Wheels that will provide candidates with the knowledge needed to safely mount, dress, set and use abrasive wheels to meet compliance with current legislation.

Our Asbestos Awareness course has been designed for delegates who may come into contact with asbestos along with the health risks associated.

The half day Working at Heights course will give the candidates knowledge of the new Working at Heights Regulations 2005 (WAHR) and organise and plan working at heights.

This place is fantastic!! Great instructors, great office staff, very well organised and well communicated. Previous to using TTA I went to another training company to do my Class 2 however when going in for my Class 1 I was recommended to use TTA and can not fault the qualified instructors.
