Recreation V I L L A G E O F D E E R PA R K The Village of Deer Park owns more than 73 acres of parkland and open space. The village offers three community parks, seven neighborhood parks and several natural area and open space lots. The developed parks provide two baseball fields, a softball field, three soccer fields, six tennis courts, six playground, pavilions and several miles of walking and biking trails to residents of the community. Several major parks have been recently improved with ADA-compliant walking paths. The Vehe Farm includes a soccer field, prairie path, butterfly garden and a restored barn as a community center. ELA TOWNSHIP Ela Township has three parks – Ela Park, Knigge Park and Knox Park, which offer a variety of recreational opportunities for you and your family. Knigge Park, located at 23600 N. Echo Lake Rd. in Lake Zurich, features a soccer field, children’s playground, recycling drop-off and permitted parking spaces for Lake Zurich High School students. Knox Park, located next to the township hall at 1155 E. Route 22, in Lake Zurich, features a children’s playground, picnic area, concession stand, new tennis courts, a year-round roller hockey rink and athletic fields for football, baseball, soccer and lacrosse. Ela Park, located next to the Ela Historical Society at 95 E. Main St., in Lake Zurich, features a children’s playground. To better serve its residents, the township purchased 10 acres of land in the spring of 2016 for a new park with open fields for recreation and sports. The unnamed park – to be developed in phases – is located at 21096 N. Deerpath Rd., in unincorporated Deer Park.

Through the Villages’ Parks and Recreation Department, we provide expert guidance, advice, and counsel to the Mayor, Village Board Members, Chief Operating Officer, and her strategic Executive Leadership Team as well as members of the public. They do so, with regard to the innovative and cost effective management of all related facilities, programs and plans. Parks and Recreation are responsible for the management of the physical assets, revenues, programming, community events and services provided under the broad auspices of the Village Government structure.
