School hall construction underway

Construction began on a new school hall at Waybeni Buway these school holidays.

Head of Campus Rick Cass was on hand to see the first stages of clearing the grounds and existing structures to make way for the impressive new hall, which will provide the whole school community with a venue for cultural, educational and sporting events.

The new stadium, which will be similar in size to Thursday Island Sports Complex, is scheduled to be ready to use by September this year.
