Cutters ladies win over Tigers

Classy back Jasmine Peters scored two tries when the Mackay Cutters had a percentage boosting 48-4 win over Brisbane Tigers at Brisbane’s Totally Workwear Stadium on Saturday night.

Tahlulah Tillett scored a try and had a great game in the 10 try to one hammering.

Essay Banu and Lyrech

Mara, both forwards, played strongly after coming on from the interchange bench.

Cutters had led 26-nil at halftime and now sit comfortably in second place on the ladder with their sights set on top spot.

Shibasaki Into Grand Final

Jamal Shibasaki who is a younger brother of Cowboys from P16

NRL back Gehamat Shibasaki scored a try in the Townsville Blackhawks 36-24 win over the Ipswich Jets in last weekend’s Auswide Bank Mal Meninga Cup semi final.

Rayzarlin Pearson scored two tries and Elijah-Shane Tapau crossed for one in the six try to three win.

In Sunday’s grand final at

Totally Wear Stadium starting at 3pm, the young Blackhawks will meet the Dolphins which scored a 56-18 win over Wynnum Manly Seagulls in the other semi.

For the Blackhawks which led 20-6 at halftime, it will be their 10th grand final appearance since 2009. However they did lose the last two finals in 2021 and 2022.
