SCHOOL OF PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE, NEW DELHI TSHERING WANGMO
I am an architecture student currently studying in New Delhi. I believe architecture is a larger umbrella of work where all aspects and interests need to be catered. Despite the knowledge of architecture, occupants of a site should be invloved in decision making and to work with that knowledge shows your skill of design. I try to achieve a participative design in all my work, whether it is the human or the surrounding’s involvement.
I understand that architecture is a ongoing process and it has a lot to offer to the one who is exploring.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT | MOSER ASSOCIATED ARCHITECTS
SEMESTER 6 | LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND |GROUP OF 3
We studied an unbuilt competition entry for a mixed-use housing project for the design development studio. The progress of the studio involved examining, investigating, research, and learning by detailing out a variety of building systems throughout the semester, including the program, code compliance, spatial and programmatic aspects, HVAC, structural and environmental strategies, etc.
The newly emerging Malley area sees Echo Tilia Tower as the city core, or Echo hub. The city’s commercial, cultural, historical, and ecological centres will all be located there. It will be a sustainable architectural attraction that will serve as a model for all upcoming and future buildings in the developing neighbourhood.
The building’s resources and energy will be recovered, recycled, and reduced using the most recent equipment and technologies.

The project with retails stores on the ground floor followed by underground parking and residential apartments in upper floors aims to offer a quality environment in accordance with the surrounding context and the importance of the area. The focus is to design a simple yet smart project to emphasize on maximizing living interactive spaces. That is maximizing the community interaction through the central semi-public courtyard comprising of play ground and wooden stages for celebrations, and through the green park covers and balconies at all different roof levels.

• By lightening the mass of the building on its corners we achieved the inner courtyard to be more spacious and naturally illuminated, while the whole block becomes more open.
• The facade of the building is conceived in two different characters. The street facade is made of an orthogonal grid of glazed tiles, while the courtyard is brightened up by white plaster finish, supplemented with terraces and loggias in wooden panelling.

BAUHAUS DESIGN
SEMESTER 4 | DESSAU, GERMANY |GROUP OF 4
We aim to create a space that follows Bauhaus principles embracing the new world of technology and innovative ideas. To commemorate the iconic movement and emphasize its significance, we focus more on designing unconventional and individualistic spaces rather than pre-existing prototypes. The Bauhaus building should have a unique representation of the radical change it brought and the associated history. It should be an iconic portrayal of the globally renowned Bauhaus art style while accommodating to and upholding its immediate context.
Eliminating the pre-existing spatial hierarchy & instigating new ways of engaging and thought-provoking spaces for the budding artists to break the anatomy of the typical build form of educational institutes. Simplifying and blending the spaces by adopting technology and subtle transitions manifests minimalism and a unified vision. Maximizing the interaction by merging the usable space with landscape and establishing good built-open connections further provides the users more exposure.
Triangular Site
Build up mass aligned to the site.
Subtracting mass due to pre existing mass.
Creating open courtyards for better connectivity.
Maximising open and closed space interaction.
Providing ramps for subtle transition.
Creating punctures for movement.
Providing opening for better circulation.
Simplifying and blending the spaces by making the spaces multi functional that manifests minimalism.
Eliminating the pre-existing spatial hierarchy & instigating new ways of engaging and thought-provoking spaces.
Creative & Explorative Original vision with Contemporary execution CONCEPT Unified vision Individuality Merging but unique No hierarchy of spaces Minimalism Open inspiring spaces Explore new technology and materials Multi purpose spaces Form based on context and function

YUSUF CO-OP HOUSING
SEMESTER 5 | HAUS QAZI CHOWK, OLD DELHI |INDIVIDUAL PROJECT
In this post pandemic situation, many people have lost their jobs, some suffered business loss and had to shut down their business while some had just graduated and didn’t even get chance to get into profession. This has lead to loss of income and even homelessness resulting in lack of self-esteem, sense of belonging and depression.
This project brings these people together into this community and start over their life. Apart from catering to the essential necessities, it will also permit the inhabitants to advantage from a communal way of life. Such an intercession not only satisfies the fundamental requirements of housing but also produces people who are able to deliver back to society. The program looks to supply a stage that does not only engage the inhabitants but moreover the community as an entirety.
• Also known as Netagi building, it has hardware retail shops on the ground floor and offices on the first and second floor.
• The back side of the site had residences which are connected on the terrace level without any intermediate connections.

MEASURED DRAWINGS
FIRST YEAR |DHANYAKURIA, WEST BENGAL MANDU, MADHYA PRADESH |GROUP OF 6
In the two eductional class trips we went in our first two semesters, we were assigned to measure and document a historical / architecturally significant or heritage building and translate all the data into a set of drawings. Each group had to only measure one particular building assigned by the course coordinator. Apart from doing the measuring exercise on site, we also need to do additional research in order to piece together all the important data about the building.

WORKING DRAWINGS
SEMESTER |AMRITSAR, PUNJAB
The project tries to respond to the contextual heritage of the city of Amritsar by creating an ecosystem that would support and preserve the local identity of the region. The idea of an integrated township helps in reinforcing this system by forming a closed loop of resources which everyone engages with, and thus helps in forming a sustainable community.
This complete set of working drawings shows an understanding of structural systems and building engineering services and the ability to organize building design information in a working drawing format suitable for various purposes related to the execution of the project along with an ability to read building working drawings to extract specific information.
