Having graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a MArch degree of Architecture, I am ready to start my new working position in professional architectural field. I am specifically passionate about integrating social aspects and consideration into architecture. E.g. How a building helps to tackle the elderly issues & strengthen People’s relationship. Apart from the social aspects, I also love to bring the green building elements & strategies into architecture.
In terms of Architectural Studies, I like to do sketching and modelling, and such process allows me to understand more about the spatial quality of an architecture

The notion of human touch is cultivated by the process of helping, interacting, trusting and caring each other, and through these positive behaviours it builds up the collective memories and neighbourhood relationship from time to time. However, such essence of human touch is loosening currently because most of the communities were replaced by the homogeneous design settings, which causes the lack of neighbourhood relationship.
Moreover, Chuk Yuen Estate is one of the oldest type of housing estates (1984) with a large numbers of seniors (30%) living in the community. In order to tackle the issue of limited social interaction and neighbourhood relationship in Chui Yuen House (Wong Tai Sin), this thesis proposes a functional third place with the concept of shared community kitchen that facilitate the notion of Human Touch. And by regenerating the existing podium & carpark, it redefines the significance of the podium as a whole community and form a new collection point within the Estate.
The idea of shared community kitchen is to embrace the notion of helping and sharing. The integrated experience between the seniors is created through the process of cooking, dining and sharing the outcome together, and the communal kitchen platform provides opportunities for elderly residents to socialize and develop their roles and responsibilities from the interactive behaviours. E.g. food preparation. In addition, the border-less idea combining with community kitchen helps to break through the social barrier and the process of cooking and eating together becomes the facilitation of social experience that builds up different relationships.

My design concept was to create a crystal box-like theatre building (glowing) situated in Aldrich Bay Park. It was inspired by the movement of the park, it has strong flow of people as there are a lot of public activities occurred. Therefore, I was trying to create a building with high visibility that can integrate with this strong movement in the park and attract the public immediately. The biggest move of the crystal box was to arrange all the programs inside another transparent box, wrapped by the glass curtain wall. The glass facade helps to play with the transparency and allow natural lightings. With such high visibility, the programs are transparent to the outside viewers and meanwhile the public can also observe inside activities beyond the crystal glass facade layer, which enhanced the interaction between the public in the park and the theatre.
Access point & people flow direction
The site was located in Shau Kei Wan and specially situated in the Aldrich Bay Park. The park was the important site element, multiple access entries and pavilion features increase the flow of people and public activities. With such public site, high visibility and views of the park will be the key elements of my theatre building.

changes create the ‘floating’ effect. Simple elements like Black, White and Transparency enhance the contrast between dark and light and create strong visual experience. The voids created inside the building create views toward the park. -Concept

Our design is about the idea of a platform that endorse the importance of physical social involvement in this particular project, an idea to bring social media from online back to on’street’. Newspaper is not only a universal household item, it also embodies information of society and involve our collective memory, the derivation of our social media. We transformed building walls into some flipping and moveable panels, forming a whole unique newspaper stall of informal architecture. The revelation with community, information, when all the social forces are coming in together, and we see what it can generates. A benefit of doing this is we are not wasting precious urban spaces, nor resources, we are revitalizing what we already have. We also want to create this platform that activate abandoned streets, make better use of our urban spaces, and preserve the social value of our community.
design in an architectural way, reinterpreting the gesture of flipping the newspaper, implement that into our design, as a notion of opening information and society to our eyes.

Brazil Centro has a tropical climate and best known for its wellpreserved tropical forests, Amazon River and Corcovado Hill. With such strong impact and feature of the tropical forests, this urban smart green office was inspired by the idea of Amazon River surrounded with excess trees and greenery. The use of repeated columns, shifting blocks of offices and the excessive use of green plants help to create a strong visual effect of a tropical rainforest. In terms of the practical and sustainable strategies, this building is like a ‘smart rainforest’, consist of a large number of identical size of modules and each module represent each office use. The compactness of shifting modules create various roof gardens and green façade system, it helps to provide enough shading, avoiding from the direct solar radiation entering the building. Vegetating façades of a building provides evapo-transpiration, which reduce the surfaces’ temperatures of buildings and improve its environment.
Concept
Modularization can increase the total green area of design. With the stacking and shifting of each modules, the surface area of the whole building is maximized. With the newly created space, it can be converted into open and green area for each modules.

This project is to develop a new columbarium block providing about 160,000 niches. The site covers 30,000 m2 of the coastal area within an existing ash lagoon that will comprise a new eight-story columbarium with an outdoor joss paper burning area, and Garden of Remembrance (GoR). The completed project was handed over to FEHD I have been involved in construction stage act as lead consultant to carry out project and site coordination. Building Construction
This project is to propose the expansion of North District Hospital. A new acute block with approx. estimated CFA (273,324 m2), providing a planned capacity of around 1,500 in-patient and day beds would be constructed in connection to the existing hospital block. Re-provision of RCP and MWP1 would be carried out before MWP2. I have been involved in the first stage of Expansion - re-provision of RCP and DG Stores, being the contract administrator from the date of commencement to project completion.

This is an Alteration & Additional Work of a School Library, I assisted the School in doing the design of Mezzanine floor and IT Station furniture. With requirements of having 7-8 users and center location, I initially developed different curvy forms to integrate the existing library layout. The Final design form follow the curve edges of mezzanine floor, and composed of two curvy L-shaped parts with function of computer use & resting purpose. Apart from Designing, I also help to follow the construction process and Material inspection.

This is the Public Rental Housing Development at Tai Po, I have been involved in the design and presentation including the Domestic Lobby interior design and color pattern of the housing towers for HK Housing Department. For example, the decision of choosing the color of floor tiles and wall tiles for material sample board. Apart from the assistance on designing, I also involved in doing technical architectural drawings including plans, elevations, Photoshop and presentation layout.
The concept of the Housing Estate is butterfly as we intended to preserve the existing butterfly living environment, the color tone & pattern are based on an actual butterfly’s color. The entire Housing Estate includes housing tower, retail and welfare block etc. Throughout the project, had provided my assistance in schematic proposal and working drawings.
