Zumba instructors and Zumba dancers from the region came together and paid a fee to dance for more than two hours. Tina Durbin, owner of Tryon Health and Fitness, sponsored the day as a fundraiser for the Foothills Humane Society. In addition, Durbin offered personal training sessions and fitness classes as raffle prizes. There was also a pet adopt-athon at the school where shelter animals were present and looking for new homes. (photo submitted by Joyce Cox)

and country. According to local members, it is also a great way to make friends. Adults who always wanted to be in the pony club now have a chance to join Horsemasters, River Valley Pony Club’s organization for adults. Horsemasters members will be on hand at The Farm House during the open house to answer questions about the group, which helps members learn more about horse management and riding and even gives them an opportunity to compete in teams during pony club’s annual rallies. Any level of experience welcome. – article submitted by Helen Firby
