Tcesc Department Spotlight Vision

In previous years, we had to construct some assessments from our materials. The new kit makes it easier to have it all in one place. It allows us to evaluate the students and, along with parents and all team members, provide needed materials, accommodations, and services," said Linda Aulizia, TCESC Vision Instructor. “Many students benefit from the structure of the materials, accommodations, and direct service, which leads to easier access and, in turn, greater success.

The Trumbull County Educational Service Center’s Vision Department recently implemented the Functional Vision Learning Media Assessment. FVLMA and the “T” Kit that goes along with the program provides a K12 framework for systematically assessing a student’s visual functioning and needs for adapted educational media. The student is challenged with visual information within each detailed assessment to plan and carry out a task.

Students in our Carpentry PreApprenticeship program from LaBrae Local Schools and Howland Local School District work together to create classroom cubbies for TCESC Classrooms at Lordstown Local Schools and Girard City School District.
