SCHOOL HOUSEBULLIES - PREVENTION, RESPONSE, AND INVESTIGATION (10-5)
Dennis Lewis co-founded Edu-Safe, an advisory and training organization established to assist school administrators and others in providing safe schools Mr Lewis has over 30 years of experience in working to provide safe schools and communities, including 17 years as the Director of School Public Safety for a large urban/suburban school district
Mr Lewis provides workshops nationwide on school violence and crisis management, presents regularly at state and national conferences, and is a guest lecturer at several universities Mr Lewis has conducted numerous school safety assessments and is trained in Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED)
SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS - A PROFESSIONAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITY (10-13)
The goal of SRO programs is to provide safe learning environments, provide valuable resources to school staff members, foster a positive relationship with students, and develop strategies to resolve problems affecting our youth to protect all children so they can reach their fullest potential. Federal data estimate that across the country, there are some 52,000 full or part-time SROs in schools at least once a week, plus another 15,500 sworn law enforcement officers in schools who were not SROs. ADDRESSING ATTENDANCE AND TRUANCY (10-17)
Throughout the 2023-24 school year, the Trumbull County Educational Service Center (TCESC) will host Dr. Adam Saenz, a nationally recognized psychologist and emotional intelligence expert, to help teachers, counselors, and administrators address student attendance and truancy. Each of TCESC's partner school districts and community partners will have the opportunity to learn and work alongside Dr. Saenz during four informational sessions and four site-based visits to help you combat the student attendance crisis. K-3 AIM Dyslexia Training Make Up (10-25 & 11-30)
AIM Institute of Learning and Research is offering a 3-part series to meet the requirements of Ohio House Bill 436. This session is designed for new hires and individuals who missed last year's sessions.
Sara Levitt English Learner Professional Development (11-15)
An Overview of Applying Learning Progress and Data Analysis in English Learning Assessment
The session will explore the importance of monitoring and analyzing data when assessing English learning progress. Our presenter, Sara Levitt, is an experienced educator dedicated to improving the educational experience. She founded SJL Educational Consultants and teaches graduate courses at Walsh University and Muskingum University.
