Introducing the Best It’s done. The over 2,000 ballots have been tallied, and it’s time to announce the 2011 winners of The River Reporter’s Reader’s Choice Best Awards. In preparation for this year’s contest, we increased the visibility of the ballot, published it in our special sections, posted it online and promoted it in collaboration with the local radio station. And the readers responded, and the votes poured in. At the contest deadline, our office was like a miniature postal facility, with stacks upon stacks of ballots waiting to be tallied. We hope that you enjoy the section and get a sense of the variety and viability of our region. We hope that you’ll be introduced to goods and services, people, establishments and activities that you have never heard of before. Because, beyond spreading the news about everyone’s favorite, the Readers’ Choice Best Awards is part of a larger scheme to market and highlight the many wonderful people, places, services and businesses in the Upper Delaware River Valley, and Sullivan, Delaware, Orange, Wayne and Pike counties.
