Washing the conveyor system is an easy thing to do, and can extend the life of a conveyor Washing the conveyor will: o Remove buildup of grime o Allow oil to reach more crucial parts of the chain o Remove materials that can cause wear, such as dirt o Remove corrosive materials that could break down and weaken the conveyor How to wash conveyor: o With the conveyor on, through each inspection door, pressure wash the chain and crossbars as they pass, until all buildup and grime is removed ▪ This is a good time to watch for damaged crossbars o After washing, a heavy oiling of the chain is required, oil until all water has been worked out of chain
