Safety The Trout River Trailer is not “just a trailer”, it is also a powerful machine with various mechanisms that could be potentially dangerous, the following are some general safety rules pertaining to trout river trailers: • • • • • •

• •

Never enter trailer with conveyor in operation When conveyor is running be sure to keep all body parts, clothing, etc. clear of inspection doors, conveyor belt, or any other moving parts; failure to do so could result in serious injury Be aware of the tailgate position, and stand clear when opening or closing When trailer is unloading be sure to stand clear of the rear of the trailer, as to not get injured from the load being ejected from the tub Ladder is designed for a maximum of 250 pounds; do not exceed this limit. Top ladder rung is only there as a “hand-hold”; do not use as a step Trailer hydraulic system is designed to run in access of 2500 psi, this amount of pressure could be very dangerous; always take care when connecting hydraulic lines, that it is done properly, and replace any damaged hydraulic components immediately. Always be sure system pressure is relieved before maintenance o Always connect return line first, and disconnect last Air system can also be dangerous, be aware of air lines, that they are not damaged, and relieve system pressure before maintenance When working on the trailer, be sure all power systems are disconnected, unless otherwise instructed or needed, always be aware of present dangers

Part

Description

1. Oiler control

Use knob to adjust flow of oil to each brush when oiler is turned on, each knob is held in place with a locknut.

2. Hydraulic return connection

The return should be connected first to avoid hydraulic system damage. Be sure this connection is threaded on properly and fully; improper coupling of this line will result in a trailer that wont unload and can result in hydraulic system damage.

3. Hydraulic supply connection

Be sure this connection is threaded on properly and fully; improper coupling of this line will result in a trailer that wont unload and can result in hydraulic system damage.

4. Tarp plug

2 pole socket that provides power and ground for tarp function.

5. System air pressure gauge

This gauge monitors the air pressure in the trailers air ride system.

Page |5 6. Blue Gladhand – control (service) line

The line that carries the control signal from the tractor is called the control line. It's also commonly called the service line.

7. Red gladhand – supply (emergency) line

The air line that supplies the trailer reservoirs with air at full tractor reservoir pressure is called the supply line. It’s sometimes called the emergency line.

8. Auxiliary plug

7 wire auxiliary plug provides power to any accessories added to the trailer.

9. Trailer light plug

7 wire plug provides power to all of the trailers lights. (clearance lights, turn signals, brake lights, abs light, etc.)

Part

Description

1. Licence plate mount

Located on the top left of the tailgate, use a 7/16” wrench/ socket to install licence plate. Threads are ¼”-20.

2. Tailgate lockout

Should be used in combination with tailgate air shutoff on the rear curb side. When tailgate is opened, insert pin in top hole to lock tailgate in opened position.

3. Flip up mudflaps

For 2020 the trailer has air powered mudflap lifters but can also be lifted manually.

Part 1. Oiler on-off

Description This switch allows the flow of oil from the return side of the hydraulic system, to the on-board oiler system. It is important to watch the levels in the hydraulic oil reservoir, as the oiler system does draw oil directly from the hydraulic system. Note: chain should be oiled daily

2. Ladder

Rated for 250lbs, if trailer has a release agent tank, it will be mounted to the ladder.

3. Crossbar indicator

This is a reminder of the crossbar(s) that run across the top of the trailer, from the left toprail to right toprail.

4. Hydraulic supply line

The upper of the 2 lines that run end to end.

The lower of the 2 lines that run end to end.

6. Hydraulic system pressure gauge

Gauge shows the pressure of the hydraulic system. This system should not exceed 2800psi or damage may occur.

7. Manual tarp crank handle

If tarp motor fails, connect a chain to this handle and use to open and close tarp.

8. Dolley leg crank handle

2 speed gearbox, Handle pushes in or pulls out for High and low range.

The trailer has two 16 inspection doors, one per side. The doors can be used to inspect the inside of the conveyer, as well as to oil, and wash components of the conveyor.

10. Air control box

Has various functions from opening the tailgate, to operating lift axles, diagram provided on the inside of the door. Note: do not change any of the pre set adjustments outlined on the diagram

11. Auto belt lever

Rotate handle down (CCW) to engage auto belt, this function locks lever in unload position. When left engaged, auto-belt operates with the tailgate; as tailgate opens, belt turn on, when tailgate closes, belt shuts off.

12. Manual belt forward/reverse lever

Manually move belt forward or backward, with variable speed, from the rear of the trailer with this lever.

2. Tailgate air shutoff 1. Load counter

3. Crossbar Indicator

4. Inspection door

Part

Description

1. Load counter

This feature is programmed to the length of your trailer and counts the amount of complete revolutions the conveyor has made. It is attached to the back shaft.

2. Tailgate air shutoff

This is to be shut off after tailgate is locked in the open position with the tailgate lockout. It shuts off the supply of air to the tailgate cylinders to ensure the gate does not try closing while lockout is locked. This could result in serious injury, or damage to tailgate.

3. Crossbar indicator

This is a reminder of the crossbar that runs across the top of the trailer, from the left toprail to right toprail

4. Inspection door

The trailer has two 16 inspection doors, one per side. The doors can be used to inspect the inside of the conveyer, as well as to oil, and wash components of the conveyor.
