PUT ON SADDLE: Wrap waist buckle around waist and buckle. Cinch tight.

REACH UNDER, pull leg straps through and clip buckles and cinch.

LINEMAN ROPE: When ready to climb, remove your lineman rope from your pouch. Ensure one end is safely attached to your Lineman’s loop by carabiner or girth hitch. Wrap the free end around the tree and safely secure to the opposing Lineman’s loop. Ensure your carabiners are safely locked.

CLIMB: Slide prusik knot on lineman rope to adjust to the tree size at bottom of tree. As you climb up make sure to adjust to the tree size to safely climb the tree. Make sure to remove any slack as you maneuver in the tree. NEVER remove your lineman rope as you climb or descending your tree.

NEVER climb above your lineman rope.

STAY CLOSE: Once at your hunting height make sure you adjust your lineman rope using the prusik to keep closely to the tree.

WARNING: Failure to read and follow all written and video instructions before could cause serious injury or death. ALWAYS wear your tree saddle and use your lineman rope system when using climbing sticks and platform.

SECURE TETHER: Once you feel secure, pull tether rope out of pouch and wrap the sewn eye loop end around the tree. Pass the free end of the rope, prusik knot and carabiner through the sewn eye loop and pull tight against the tree so the tether is taut. For extra security and reassurance that your tether doesn’t slip down at all pass the free end of the rope, prusik knot and carabiner again through the sewn eye loop. ATTACH YOUR TREE TETHER BEFORE YOU STEP ON TO YOUR PLATFORM.

SECURE BRIDGE: Now you can attach your Tree Tether carabiner to your bridge. Make sure to screw tightly the carabiner lock. Slide Prusik knot up tree tether rope until rope is taut and holding your weight. Always keep your prusik on tether rope above your waist line and never below your bridge. You man now safely step down onto your platform.

REMOVE LINEMAN ROPE: Once your Tree Tether is secured to your saddle and you are comfortable with the height of your prusik on your Tree Tether you may remove your lineman rope from your Lineman loop on either side. Do this by unscrewing the carabiner lock and safely store it in your pouch on the either of saddle all while the adjacent side of the Lineman Rope is still safely connected to your saddle.

ADJUST BRIDGE LENGTH: You can adjust your bridge length by grabbing the knotted end of the bridge and slide the prusik on the bridge until you reached the length you want. Pull hard on the prusik to make it bite (tighten) on the bridge rope.

ADJUST POSITION: : You can adjust to more of a seated position, hold one hand on tether rope below prusik and with other hand you can slide prusik up or down to desired height. Once you find the height you like make sure to pull snug on Tether carabiner to pull prusik tight.

DESCEND TREE: Reverse Steps 8 through 3 to descend down the tree.

WARNING: Failure to read and follow all written and video instructions before could cause serious injury or death. ALWAYS wear your tree saddle and use your lineman rope system when using climbing sticks and platform.

IMP RTANT R PE USE

The improper use of rope MAY BE DANGEROUS

We reccomend to retire and replace ropes every two years.

Avoid shock loading rope whenever possible.

Do not use rope in applications beyond the heat rating of the rope.

Be sure to use the correct size rope for the job

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON ROPE USE

Do not leave rope exposed to UV light for extended periods of time.

Do not overload the rope.

It is the user’s responsibility to use rope in a safe manner!

Keep rope away from all chemicals to prolong safe working life.

Never untie any knot, remove sheathing, or remove stitching provided with your ropes.

Because of the wide range of rope use, rope conditions, exposure to the several factors affecting rope behavior, and the degree of risk to life and property involved, it is not realistic to make specific recommendations as to the exact loads any given rope can handle. It is the users responsibility to completely understand the safe use and operation of the rope being put into service for any specific or general task. The user needs to be aware of all environmental, load and any other variable factors that affect the safe use of rope. Failure to do so can cause severe personal injury and/or death as well as property and/or other environmental damage. The user of this rope assumes all such risks. In addition, any safety training or skill training required for the safe use of rope in any capacity is the sole responsibility of the user of any rope.

INFORMATION ON APPLYING A LOAD TO ROPE:

When weight is applied to rope many different dynamic factors come into play. These factors can exist in either a dynamic or static load. Dynamic Loads: This applies to a load that imparts varying amounts of weight on the rope, for example, a load that drops or a load that swings. This movement on the rope can greatly increase the force put on a rope. In some cases this can be 2 to 5 times the weight of the item. It is crucial to safe use that the correct type of rope is chosen for these applications. Static Loads: This applies to a load that is a consistent weight on the rope, for example, a rope holding a single weighted item. Static loads can also be briefly subject to dynamic loads. Being aware of lifting or pulling factors is crucial to maintaining a safe working environment.

ROPE STRENGTHS:

All rope has a rating referred to as a “tensile strength” or “average break strength” This number is the amount of weight that the rope should be able to hold in ideal conditions. This would be new rope, with no knots or splices, at room temperature. These break strength numbers are based on actual destructive break testing by the manufacturer or a certified third party testing facility over many cycles and the average break strength is recorded and applied to the product. Rope wear, knots, extreme hot or cold temperatures, chemicals, how the load is applied and many other factors will result in a break strength lower than the stated strength. Just because a rope has a stated or advertised break strength doesn’t mean it will safely hold something that weighs that amount!!! Refer to the safe WORKING LOAD of each specific rope for more information.

WORKING LOADS:

As a broad generalization, most working loads are anywhere from 1/10 to 1/4 of the average break strength of the rope. Any rope used in life support or personal fall protection applications must use the 1/10 ratio. When in doubt, use a working load factor that affords a greater margin of safety, or move up to a larger diameter rope.

KNOTS & SPLICES:

Main safety ropes supplied for use in the TROPHYLINE harness system have been professionally stitch spliced. This splice will maintain 90% of the rope strength. Before every use, a visual inspection is necesssary to ensure that no damage has occurred to the rope itself or the splice. Visually inspect to make sure the stitching in the splice area is in good condition and not cut or abraided in any way.

SPECIAL NOTE FOR TREE STAND SAFETY ROPES:

Operating safely at height for hunting requires specific training. Do not attempt this activity without training and guidance by an experienced professional in this industry. Be sure to know and understand the effects of dynamic and static loading on the main safety line as well as the attached prusick cord(s) being used. BE SURE TO PROPERLY TIE AND SET all knots and connections to your fall arrest and safety gear. Failure to do so can result in severe personal or property damage or even death.

WARNING: Failure to read and follow all written and video instructions before could cause serious injury or death. ALWAYS wear your tree saddle and use your lineman rope system when using climbing sticks and platform.
