presidentCheriTSMSDCKHenderson,andCEO,of the TriState Minority Supplier Development Council (TSMSDC), is responsible for promoting and expanding business and procurement opportunities among major corporations, and minority-owned businesses through the day-to-day leadership, management, and the vision of its board of directors With more than 30 years in supplier diversity, she is an ardent advocate on behalf of minority business owners, an assists major purchasers with their supplier diversity, equity and inclusion efforts She initiated the concept of the TSMSDC in the 80s, which now covers the footprint of three states – Kentucky, Tennessee, and West Virginia, under the affiliation of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, based in New York The extended network comprises over 1,500 major corporations, 16,000 MBEs, and 23 affiliated councils, nationwide Prior to her tenure with TSMSDC, she served as executive director of the Minority Business Opportunity Committee, a federally-funded agency Her responsibilities included mobilizing and coordinating 54 federal agencies for minority economic development

Henderson’s career also includes minority and small business advocacy in Tennessee State Government; and as an educator with the Knoxville and Nashville Public School Systems

Marilyn Clark is the Supplier Diversity Manager for the University of Kentucky (UK), where she is responsible for working across the enterprise to increase spending with diverse suppliers She works closely with the procurement team, project managers and departments and community leaders to include minority, women, veteran, and disabledowned businesses into the UK supply chain . In addition, Clark leads the UK Equitable Economic Development Collaborative Prior to coming to UK, Marilyn worked in supplier diversity at the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and for the Fayette County Public Schools
