ACHIEVEMENTS

Architecture is an invisible force that connects us to our communities and our environment. From building legos at a tender age to designing architectural masses; creativity and innovation have shaped my growth as a designer. I'm a designer who portrays a deep sense of integrity, determination, and uniqueness to influence spaces and the people's lives associated to it , using the same invisible force.

D-SQUARE DESIGN DISTRICT ( D3 )

D-Square is a Deployable public platform to host the events held during the Design Week in D3. D-Square is designed to be a seasonal public square that deploys itself onto the site during peak seasons and gets dis-integrated into smaller modules and folds itself into the storage during off-season. This duality of the design concept was incorporated in response to the seasonal nature of most events held in dubai, promoting the sustainable use of a temporary space in contrast to the permanent structure not being used to its fullest potential .

The top rail is formed by steel members forming a framework of 60m x 60m along which the scissohinge walls move along. This steel framework have intermediate members running in intervals on support rigging systems etc.

The base tracks are embedded into the footing to provide stability to the wall that slides along it. Jackpad foundation system is a pre-fabricated footing that can be disassembled.

The louvers are made to face the skylight to maximize daylight in the kitchen work areas and are eventually made to penetrate into the kitchen giving an ambient source of light. The common corridors have punctures that draw in light into all the floors. This light could be used for laundry purpose providing a semi-concealed space.

URBAN INTERVENTIONS

BEFORE/

The streets had no strong character, they were saturated beyond use. The diagonal parking took up a lot of space that could have been utilized for public facilities, such as ramps, landscaping, public seats.

AFTER/

The pedestrian walkways have now been widened , giving room for street furniture integrated with local trees. The space consuming diagonal parking has now been replaced by parallel parking.

/SOLAR SHADING

Passive means of shading outdoor restaurants were introduced. Shading devices were installed in all the outdoor seating areas intertwined with local plants and creepers.

/SHARED PUBLIC SEATING

These seating have been provided for individual and group settings provided at a lower level to disconnect from the chaotic locality.

/PLANTER SEATING

The planter seating was strategically positioned to get a visual access to the bus station to be used by waiting passengers. Trees to provide shade.

BEFORE AFTER

The parking shortage was solved by creating a multi-level basement parking flanked by an open amphitheater space to encourage eventful night life. This strengthens community spirits. The trees provide shade to the users.

OPEN AIR CINEMAS

This facility could function as an open air cinema during favorable weather conditions

FESTIVALS + CELEBRATIONS

This facility could function as a gathering venue for various festivities.

AMPHITHEATER

This facility could function as a Performance area for showcasing talents within the community.

/FRIDAY MARKET $ PARKING

/FRIDAY MARKET $ PARKING

The abandoned parking lot in tightly packed urban form was replaced by a parking building incorporated by Friday Market Facilities on the ground floor. This includes communal activities within the neighborhood for recreational purpose and to boost the economy.

120 HOURS

Eco is short for ecology (the scientific study of interactions among organisms and their environment). Moyo means heart in Swahili. Eco Moyo, therefore, refers to showing love for the environment. The key task of the competition is to create a place for playing, teaching, and gathering that protect the users from the sun and the rain. We are encouraged to use materials such as Palm leaves Steel Timber Stones Concrete. The project functions and have qualities at three different scales: a couple, a group and a crowd.

ECO MOYO

This study was for a Journal for Design Guidelines for an Ayurvedic Clinic. This internship has reinforced our understanding and knowledge of basic ergonomics, spatial planning, and interior design requirements for a typical Ayurvedic Treatment Centre. Key tasks are such as:

• Write Up o n Design requirements for the various Treatment rooms and Ancillary spaces.

• Layout Drafting for Major Rooms

• 3D Model for Rooms using Sketchup + Vray

• Sheet Composition on Indesign
