“This past fall, I had the chance to travel the coast of Norway as a travel writer—the country from where Enebak Construction’s Founder (my great-great-grandfather) Sigurd Enebak emigrated in the late 1800s. Sigurd grew up on a small island called Karmøy, almost 4,000 miles away from Lakeville, Minnesota, where Enebak Construction is still digging dirt more than 120 years later. Glimpsing my ancestors’ home country for the first time, I was struck with the overwhelming importance of preserving legacy.
Legacy, as defined by the Oxford English Dictionary, is the long-lasting impact of a person’s life, or of particular events or actions that took place in the past. It’s likely that Sigurd had no idea his long-lasting impact would reach his great-great-granddaughter on the shores of his home country one day, or less likely, that it would evolve into a robust and thriving family of companies named “TRADITION,” as an ode to its reverence for those who came before.
FOR TRADITION, HONORING THE PAST IS THE SUREST WAY FORWARD.
Since Sigurd’s time, multiple generations of TRADITION leaders have upheld his vision, and even begun to forge legacies of their own. Like my grandfather Tip Enebak, whose long-lasting impact will be defined by the countless lives he’s changed through his generous heart and philanthropic vision. (And at 83 years old, he still isn’t finished.) As future generations look to these founders and changemakers, they are presented with the remarkable chance to extend TRADITION’s legacy, one that has traveled across oceans, centuries, and generations to reach them.

Serene wetlands meet neatly paved trails at Watercrest of Hugo, a two-phase project in partnership with Gonyea Development, set to sprawl over 70 acres upon its completion in 2025. Throughout the first phase of development, Tradition Development prioritized the property’s natural beauty, setting aside 46 acres as protected woodlands and wetlands for future residents to enjoy. This unique opportunity to connect with nature, combined with the development’s proximity to downtown White Bear Lake and major highways, affords a striking convergence of city and country living. Residents will also enjoy easy access to two of the north metro’s most beautiful protected nature areas, Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve and Bald Eagle Otter-Lake Regional Park. Feed My Starving Children is a Twin Cities-based Christian nonprofit that provides nutritious meals to children in need in over 70 countries across the world. Tradition Capital Bank has made a two-year commitment to help fund a new project-based food assistance program in Guatemala City, Guatemala, in partnership with a local organization called Believe Guatemala.
BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF GREATER SCOTTSDALE
The Boys & Girls Club serves thousands of youth across nine locations in the greater Scottsdale area, providing guidance, support, and encouragement in a safe environment. By bringing Taste Fore the Tour, an annual foodie fundraiser centered around eliminating hunger, to its new Phoenix market, Tradition Capital Bank helped launch a new feeding program for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale.
MATTER
MATTER is a Minnesota-based nonprofit with a global heart, bringing together companies, experts, and problem solvers to launch projects that improve communities around the world. When striving to make a large-scale difference in the community, the first step is planting small seeds of generosity. Tom and Jessi McKenna planted their seeds of generosity in 2009, when they began delivering quilts and basic supplies to homeless Veterans across the Twin Cities. Over 16 years later, these seeds have blossomed into a service initiative much larger and more impactful than Tom and Jessi could have anticipated—Every Third Saturday (ETS).
From its permanent building in South Minneapolis, ETS welcomes over 3,000 Veteran visits a year, providing a resource center and community hub to support their journey in rediscovering purpose after service. Aside from providing essential, free-of-cost resources including clothing, shoes, blankets, hygiene items, meals, and a fitness center, ETS also provides Veterans and their families with guidance and emotional support in the areas of employment, finances, relationships, health, community, and faith.

TRADITION GATHERS ON ELECTION DAY TO CELEBRATE STORIES OF FAITH, HOPE, AND COURAGE
In the wake of great uncertainty, there is nothing more powerful than the strength of community. That is why TRADITION gathered on Nov. 5, 2024 to appreciate something much greater than the U.S. presidential election–life-changing stories of faith, hope, and courage.
Started by TRADITION Founder Tip Enebak, FAITH | HOPE | COURAGE is an annual event hosted on Election Day in which ordinary speakers share extraordinary testimonies of transformation. On a day that tends to breed division, TRADITION and its employees, business partners, friends, and families come together in unison, finding common ground through stories of shared humanity.
This year’s event gathered more than 700 spectators at Mystic Lake Event Center, where five keynote speakers of diverse ages and backgrounds shared their courageous stories. While each speaker’s circumstances differed, their stories were ultimately weaved together by a single connective thread: faith. Through profound struggles including grief, illness, addiction, and abuse, these five ordinary individuals harnessed an extraordinary faith that carried them forward–a lesson that can transform lives.
Regardless of the election results, attendees left the event that day with fuller hearts and lighter spirits, uplifted by a sense of community that breaks down barriers.

The holidays may be considered the most wonderful time of year, but they can be a challenging season for many families—especially those who aren’t able to put many presents under their trees. United Heroes League is passionate about creating equal opportunity for military kids to enjoy the magic of the holidays, regardless of their financial or family situations.
In December 2024, United Heroes League had the chance to positively impact over 5,000 Veteran and military family members at The Great Holiday Gift Giveaway, a spirited holiday event that gave away over $1 million worth of sports-related toys and equipment. From scooters and baseball bats to soccer balls and hockey skates, kids lined up between ornament making, mugs of hot cocoa, and snapshots with Santa and Mrs. Claus to receive gifts that will aid them in leading active, healthy, and goal-scoring lifestyles.

On the path to achieving success in sport, there is much to be learned. United Heroes League prioritizes every opportunity to pass on the valuable life lessons, camaraderie, and character that sports can instill in kids. Since its founding in 2009 by military Veteran Shane Hudella, United Heroes League has been able to provide military kids and
families across the U.S. and Canada with over $25 million worth of free equipment, coaching, game tickets, and cash grants. Whether a child’s passion lies in the hockey rink or the soccer field, United Heroes League is equipped to support it, proudly providing aid across 14 unique sporting pursuits.

Beyond the countless goals scored and records beat, United Heroes League’s greatest impact continues to be the meaningful relationships built, which span across teams, backgrounds, and ages. Kids not only form bonds through the transformative power of teamwork, but also develop mentorships with United Heroes League’s 120-plus professional athlete ambassadors, who donate their time, talents, and tickets in support of the nonprofit's mission. Looking ahead to 2025, United Heroes League is excited to provide kids with further opportunities to connect as it continues construction on locker rooms and viewing facilities at its SCHEELS® rink in Hastings, to be unveiled in time for Hockey Day Minnesota 2026.

June 2024 marked the 24th annual Tradition Cup at Legends Club in Prior Lake, one of multiple picturesque courses built by TRADITION. The anticipated summer event offers valued employees and business partners a chance to reconnect, sharpen their golf game, and show their appreciation for one another’s continued partnership.
Although the sky was overcast across Legend’s greens, a little rain couldn’t dull the spirit of the TRADITION family. Foursomes made their way down the damp course with a smile, building valuable camaraderie and connection with each tee-off. Whether eagle or bogey, each hole was an ode to good company and a celebration of TRADITION's loyal friends and associates–the wins that truly matter.

THE 2024 ANNUAL HOPE K EVENT RAISED OVER $210,000 FOR HOPEKIDS MN
In June 2024, HopeKids MN celebrated the 16th year of its annual Hope K event, a 5- and 10kilometer race that brings the community together to walk, run, eat, drink, play, raise money, and celebrate hope. Held at the scenic Spirit of Brandtjen Farm neighborhood in Lakeville, the anticipated summer event saw an incredible turnout, culminating its largest and most successful iteration to date, with over $210,000 raised for HopeKids MN.
Embodying the true spirit of TRADITION, the Hope K event has become a beloved tradition of its own to the families, partnering companies, and community members who continue to show up each year. Whether running or walking, attendees enjoy a much-needed chance to relax and connect after the race, engaging in games like inflatable sports, sawdust coin dive, construction machines, princesses, tie-dye, a petting zoo, bounce house, face painting, and more. When this network of 800-plus attendees gather in support of one mission, true hope flourishes.

As a national nonprofit with a mission of spreading hope to families and children with life-threatening medical conditions, HopeKids has seen this truth come to life in powerful ways in its communities.
HopeKids’ Minnesota chapter puts on over 500 events a year, giving children and their families a chance to escape from doctors, treatments, and waiting rooms to enjoy exciting experiences in their communities, free of cost. These experiences not only allow kids to relax, have fun, and build friendships, but give parents a chance to connect with other families who understand their struggles. With a vision of restoring hope and transforming lives, HopeKids operates based off of five key impact areas (see below).
