AN ARRAY OF RIGOROUS CURRICULA, INTEGRATED WITH BIBLICAL TRUTH, TAUGHT BY SPIRITUALLY-MINDED, PASSIONATE TEACHERS CREATING A UNIQUE CULTURE THAT DEVELOPS COURAGEOUS LEADERS FOR LIVES OF SERVICE.

We focus on the little things so that our students can achieve the big things! SINCE OUR BEGINNING IN 1970, Trinity has made its mark in the River Region by preparing countless graduates for further education at some of America’s most prestigious colleges and universities. We diligently study the latest trends in higher education and make necessary changes to our curriculum as needed while still maintaining our core beliefs. At Trinity, we provide our students with the highest level of academics, while also providing the necessary intellectual tools to engage with the world around them, understand others’ points of view, and defend their own. In order to do this well, students receive a broad liberal arts education at Trinity that focuses on mind, body, and spirit.

Academics LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE AT TRINITY, OUR APPROACH TO ACADEMICS IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT. Trinity is Montgomery’s foremost educational institution binding academic excellence with Christian values. Providing a challenging college-preparatory education, Trinity provides a rigorous academic program, committed educators, outstanding athletics, and a nurturing family environment. One hundred percent of Trinity graduates are accepted to post-secondary institutions, with many attending some of the finest colleges in the nation; such as, Furman, Vanderbilt, Boston College, Rhodes, Auburn, and Alabama. Alumni often come back to tell us that they thrived in college because of their years at Trinity. At Trinity, we hire master educators who bring out the best in students. We believe Trinity students’ primary relationship should be with their teachers.

So, like everything else at Trinity, our approach to academics is a little different. We have created an environment where students work hard and love the work they do. As a result of the strong teacher-student partnership, students learn to take risks. Ask questions. Think critically. We focus on the little things so that our students can achieve the big things. Small classes encourage students to get involved. Learning works best when teachers and students are engaged in the process. Our teachers have the patience and insight to uncover the abilities of every student, so our students have the support they need to discover their greatest strengths.

Fine Arts FEW THINGS COMPARE TO THE FEELING OF A STANDING OVATION. JUST ASK OUR STUDENTS. Our ideal size allows every student to participate in visual and performing arts. Our theatre department produces a full-scale musical each spring with a cast of more than 100 Upper School students. Our art students win major state and national awards and are often exhibited at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. Trinity’s Show Choir and band students perform locally as well as throughout the state each year. Trinity’s intense commitment to our students’ cultural development is readily apparent by state-of-the-art areas for dance, choral, instrumental, visual arts and speech. Trinity is the only independent school in Montgomery that offers a full-time dance program. The Fine Arts facility also features a full array of sound, video and lighting equipment for high-quality stage productions.

Exposure to music and song begins at the earliest ages with the Kindergarten Christmas Play. Expression through vocal and instrumental music extends through middle and upper school in Choral and Band performances. Trinity offers a superior, multi-faceted band program that provides a variety of musical and performance opportunities. The awardwinning Wildcat Pride Marching Band performs at pep rallies, football and basketball games and is complemented by the Wildcat Twirlers. The Middle School Concert Band and the Symphonic Band allow students to increase their proficiency through rehearsing and performing concert band literature. Additionally, Trinity has a fifth grade band, the first of its kind in the city.

FINE ARTS

Whether expression comes out on stage, in art class or through an instrument, every student is rewarded for taking risks and stretching his or her talents.

The arts are not just for the serious thespian or artist at Trinity. Every student is encouraged to explore new skills and try their hand on stage, on canvas, or behind a lens. Whether expression comes out on stage, in art class or through an instrument, every student is rewarded for taking risks and stretching his or her talents.

My favorite thing about Trinity is the feeling I have every time I walk out of the school. Be it parent-teacher conferences, school plays or just dropping something off, I never leave without feeling grateful for the teachers and staff that are educating my children and helping me raise them to be strong Christian men. Also, in this world of uncertainty, I love knowing that their friends are from like-minded families who want the same things for their children.

Athletics PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMPETITIVE ATHLETICS WHILE ENRICHING THE TOTAL EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE OF EACH STUDENT-ATHLETE. The Athletic Program at Trinity is designed to provide opportunities for competitive athletics while enriching the total educational experience of each student-athlete. From the Lower School to the Upper School, opportunities are available for boys and girls to reach their potential through performance, to further their experiences in teamwork, physical well-being, and positive citizenship. Trinity fields 36 interscholastic sport teams, including football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, baseball, softball, golf, soccer, track and cross country. Trinity’s

award-winning cheerleaders and dance team are champions themselves, successfully competing in state and regional competitions. Over 84% of our students participate in at least one sport. We consistently produce championship teams and AllState athletes. Colleges recruit our players, and our graduates have gone on to play for teams ranging from NCAA Division I schools to the LPGA. Trinity teams participate in age-appropriate strength and conditioning to give them the

tools necessary to succeed. Trinity athletes practice and compete on some of the area’s finest fields and indoor facilities. A 3,000-seat football stadium, two regulation gyms, beautifully manicured football/ soccer, baseball and softball fields, a fully-equipped weight room, and tennis courts give our student athletes the fullest opportunity to reach their maximum potential. A large concession area, with an adjacent terrace, enhances the food and fellowship that are such an integral part of Trinity sports. Friday night football games always feature

a standing-room-only crowd, the smell of hamburgers on the grill and unbridled enthusiasm. Trinity’s skilled coaching staff has built a reputation for excellence and integrity. The coaches work to instill in each student athlete a desire to excel, both on and off the field/court.

WHEN ASKED WHAT SETS TRINITY’S ATHLETIC PROGRAM APART FROM THE REST OF MONTGOMERY, THERE ARE TWO THINGS THAT STAND OUT TO ME VERY QUICKLY. The first are the facilities and playing fields at Trinity. Our football field and surroundings are one of the nicest in the state. Our baseball and softball fields as well are maintained better than any other in the city. We have two full gyms for volleyball and basketball that help us with the number of teams we field along with hosting tournaments. Many visiting teams and spectators have complimented us over the years. Secondly, and more importantly, are the coaches at Trinity. We hold the record for current longest tenure of coaches in several positions in the city. I believe God has placed these coaches here to direct our young men and women physically, emotionally, and spiritually. They are serving leaders and mentors on the field and off, training them for the game of life.”

School Life ONE WORLD, ONE SCHOOL, ONE FAMILY! Students from K4 to 12th grade regularly interact with one another, be it in pep rallies or in the classroom. Trinity’s one-campus atmosphere allows older students to encourage and mentor younger students. Whether it’s a varsity athlete highfiving a first grader in the hallway or a fifth grader reading with a kindergartener, school life at Trinity is one of nurturing family. Lower school students often lovingly refer to upper school students as “the giants.” The Trinity experience is not your typical school environment. Our students and faculty have done a great job fading, if not dissolving, stereotypical divisions. At Trinity, you can be an outstanding student, an accomplished athlete, and a talented artist or performer all wrapped into one. The school grounds and classrooms are safe and secure. We

I think what sets Trinity apart is that it is one big extended family. I refer to my students as

offer a nurturing environment where the focus is always on learning.

“my kids” and I love them, fuss at them, and laugh with them just like I do

Among the great traditions of Trinity is the vitality of our parental support. Frequently, one will hear references to the “Trinity family.” While a widely used phrase in the world of education, at Trinity the word “family” is a hallmark. Parent volunteer organizations provide abundant opportunities to join the ranks and lend an allimportant hand in the day-to-day operation of the school. Parents play a central role by partnering with teachers to create a caring and cohesive environment where children can achieve their fullest potential both academically and spiritually. Parents also play a role in serving the school through prayer, classroom support, field trips, lunch program, special events, and a variety of other activities.

with my biological child. I think most teachers here do the same and that is a unique school experience. My favorite thing about Trinity is that I am encouraged/allowed/ expected to mold “my kids” in mind, body and spirit. There are no boundaries—I can challenge their hearts and minds. By doing that we send amazing humans into the world. —T R I N I T Y T E A C H E R

KINGDOM KEEPERS Kingdom Keepers is a program that was conceived in 2011; and was designed to build relationships across grade levels. Fifth graders are partnered with kindergarten students at the beginning of the year and they meet in the library two to three times a month for activities. The library is also home to a “communication station, which enables the students to correspond by mail on a weekly basis. This program allows kindergarten students to build relationships with upper classmen and carry these relationships throughout their career at Trinity and beyond.

KINDERGARTEN-SENIOR BUDDY PROGRAM The Kindergarten-Senior Buddy program is an opportunity for growth and connection between kindergartners and seniors. Each kindergartener is assigned one to two seniors. Buddies get to know each other through events organized by the Senior Class Student Government Association. This program also allows kindergarten students to build relationships with upper classmen.

Activities TRINITY OFFERS STUDENTS A WIDE VARIETY OF EXTRACURRICULAR OPPORTUNITIES. With the development of the total person at the core of our philosophy, Trinity School believes it is essential to offer students a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities through which they might find and develop their personal gifts and talents. A diverse selection of clubs, organizations, honorary societies, and class trips provide Trinity students the opportunity to grow, learn, lead others, and work together for a common goal. Students inspired by specific academic studies can supplement their classroom experiences through organizations such as Science Club, Key Club, Leo Club, Interact Club, Youth Legislature, FCA, SGA, various language clubs, and Yearbook. In an effort to recognize and encourage academic excellence in its students, Trinity recognizes a number of clubs and organizations: National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and French, Latin, and Spanish honor societies. Academic competition is available through participation in the Trinity Academic Competition Team (TACT) program. TACT members participate in a number of competitions including Scholars’ Bowl, Enviro Bowl, and Science Olympiad.

WE FEEL WHAT SETS TRINITY APART FROM OTHER SCHOOLS IS ITS COMMITMENT TO DEVELOPING A WELL ROUNDED CHILD/STUDENT. This means not solely focusing on academics, but also each child’s spiritual, social, athletic, and artistic development. Years ago someone gave me this parenting advice. Raise your child to be the kind of adult you would want to be friends with. We feel this is what Trinity is doing. Our favorite part of Trinity is easily the faculty. We feel that they are daily teaching and applying the same values and standards that we do at home.” —T R I N I T Y P A R E N T

Class trips offer unique opportunities to experience learning outside of the classroom. The Foreign Language Department provides the opportunity for travel study abroad for all students. Each trip, whether it’s abroad or down the street, is carefully and consciously designed to provide students with a safe, rewarding and positive experience, and one which expands their horizons. These trips provide practical experiences and hands-on education that augment material studied in class.

Service SERVING OTHERS IS PARAMOUNT AT TRINITY. WE HELP STUDENTS FOCUS ON PUTTING OTHERS FIRST. Serving others is paramount at Trinity. We understand that we were commanded “to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace” (I Peter 4:10). From the first day of Lower School to the last day of Upper School, we focus on putting others first. We see the impact of this effort not only in how students present themselves, but also in their respect and support for others. Service learning is more than community service or volunteerism; done properly, it links education to service and service to learning. At Trinity, service is viewed as an integral component of a student’s education.

From Lower School to Upper School, students explore service in three ways: developing awareness of the impact and meaning of service, learning about the needs and resources that meet those needs with the Montgomery community, and participating in outreach activities through our community partnerships. One of our greatest accomplishments at Trinity is when a student realizes that they can create their own ideas and solutions that truly make a difference in the world. As students grow through service contributions, they also learn to appreciate each member of the

Trinity community. Our ideal size creates a sense of belonging that can come only from a caring, nurturing environment. To be at Trinity is to belong at Trinity. And it is not just our students who belong. Our community includes the whole family, so we encourage parents to get involved at Trinity as well.

Service is viewed as an integral component of a Trinity student’s education. n Trinity School’s Mission Project, Change 4 Change, continually donates over $20,000 annually to charitable organizations in the River Region and throughout the world. n Trinity’s Junior and Senior classes annually serve over 1,100 hours of community service with local organizations, such as Common Ground, Habitat for Humanity, and The Salvation Army. n Partnering with a local elementary school, Trinity students serve as “Study Buddies,” during an after school program. n Trinity students provide food to 85 children weekly to a local elementary school through “Feeding America’s Backpack Program.”

HISTORY

BINDING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE WITH CHRISTIAN VALUES

TRINITY SCHOOL OPENED IN A LOCAL CHURCH IN 1970 WITH 200 STUDENTS AND 15 INSTRUCTORS. Trinity School has a rich history and heritage—a strong foundation. The vision of our founders has guided our school across the past 45 years and enabled Trinity to offer an unparalleled academic experience.

One-Campus OUR ONE-CAMPUS ENVIRONMENT ALLOWS TEACHERS AND FACULTY TO DEVELOP WARM AND CARING RELATIONSHIPS WITH EACH STUDENT. Today, Trinity School’s state-of-the-art, multi-million dollar facility serves over 800 students, and covers 32 acres with 186,147 square feet under roof. Because of our family-centered focus, Trinity has grown on a single site to keep siblings, family, friends, and faculty in close proximity to one another. One valuable outgrowth of the single campus is the appreciation and respect our younger students develop for their upper class role models. Fine facilities are of little value without the teaching expertise necessary to use them effectively. Trinity School is proud of the outstanding instruction that our highly qualified teaching and administrative staff offers. Our team of more than 100 faculty and staff members possesses a variety of gifts and talents; more than half of our teachers have earned advanced degrees. The small classroom size not only provides for more individual attention for each student, but it also allows teachers

to develop warm and caring relationships with each young person. An attitude of genuine concern and caring for each individual is a Trinity hallmark. The teachers at Trinity have a well-developed sense of community. We believe that each child is each adult’s responsibility, and every teacher on campus, from K4 through the 12th grade, appreciates that obligation. The coaches, for example, who guide our varsity sports teams, also teach Lower School physical education and classroom teachers coach sports teams as well. That is the degree to which all teachers at Trinity are invested in your child’s success.
