CENTRE FOR CONTEMPORARY PERFORMANCE PRACTICES PROGRAMME STRUCTURE YEAR ONE Year 1, shared with Applied Drama, focuses on the fundamental skills of vocal and physical expression; exploration, experimentation and creativity; culminating in a final production.

YEAR TWO

BA (HONS) PERFORMING ARTS (CONTEMPORARY PERFORMANCE) Our Performing Arts course is intended to engage those who wish to have a more discerning and enquiring relationship with the world of performance. We do not train our undergraduates as passive performers. We educate, so that our graduates are more able to determine their own pathways, generate their own work and to function as independent practitioners in their chosen fields.

Year 2 allows for developing diversity into the fields of performance, directing or workshop facilitation with a final opportunity to apply your learning and continue your exploration in a final year, self-directed project.

YEAR THREE Year 3 provides opportunities for students to develop depth and independence in their work. You will apply your knowledge and skills to conceive, design and implement your projects through to successful conclusion. Your Final Project module allows you the freedom to create a project entirely of your own choosing.

Our students will explore the fundamentals of theatre and performance through specialist classes in vocal and physical expression, performance-making, digital arts and performing. Our staff are expert in their own specialist fields but we also work closely with visiting professionals who bring their own unique perspectives to bear in weekly delivery, in performances and in workshops and masterclasses. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Two passes at GCE A level (12 units), supported by three other subjects at GCSE at grade C or above, or EdExcel National Diploma or Certificate, or AVCE (12 units), or The University invites applications from students of other EU countries and from outside the EU, who have qualifications and skills equivalent to the above. Competence in English language is essential.
