ABOUT ME

My name is Trinity Jamerson I am a second-year architecture student attending Howard University. This portfolio encompasses work from the first year of studio into the first semester of my sophomore year. Showcasing my progression, the main theme of this portfolio was finding myself within my projects. Each project is a unique chapter in my architectural journey, showcasing the versatility of my skills and the ability to translate conceptual ideas into tangible, awe-inspiring spaces.
THE CONTAINER PROJECT
This container is designed to both display and contain my ring. Inside, the ring is easily accessible, stored safely, and still on display when not in use. In actuality, I see it sitting on a dresser or vanity.

THE PROCESS
Taking the concept from a folded brochure I found that I could maximize space, allowing for the most use out of the bus shelter. Seating on both sides of the shelter.

This “in and out” aspect of the design played a part in providing shade within the shelter. This was a huge factor for comfortablity of the user

The back side of the shelter provides a handicap accessible area. One doesn’t have to sit to occupy.

THE SACRED SPACE PROJECT

The Sacred Space. A space of reclamation. Taking back what is rightfully yours.

The site is located on the National Mall, north of the Washington Monument and east of the Museum of Natural History. The history of this site is rooted in the representation of the country and its ideals. This meant clearing the land to do so: Clearing out families, livelihoods, culture, beliefs, art, and simply a way of life. Every day we go through it just doing this thing called life.
Experiencing different things some good, some bad. Because of that fact, my space will be a place to come and acknowledge those experiences and out of that place creating something beautiful.
The process of Reclaiming. To reclaim something has to be taken away. Strip. From there you are to sit in solitude with yourself. Solidarity. Once you have sat with these experiences you come to a place of peace with them. Serenity. We create something beautiful out of this process of sitting in your experiences. Create

STRIP. SOLIDARITY. SERENITY. CREATE.
Out of these word diagrams came design for my Sacred Space.
