Lenten Journey: Signs of Life, Why Church Matters

Lenten Journey: Episcopal 101 Wednesday Track

Lenten Journey: The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis

Led by The Reverend Andrew Thayer and The Reverend John Pitzer

Led by The Reverend Jane-AllisonWiggin-Nettles

Led by The Reverend Jay Albert

From the time we are born, we seek light, water, food, shelter and community. Join us for a Lenten Study designed by the Society of St. John the Evangelist and Virginia Theological Seminary as we connect each ‘Sign of Life’ to Christian worship, and a spiritual practice.

This 4-week class is for high school youth and adults interested in the foundations of faith in the Episcopal Church. This discussion group combines Bible study, sacred art, church history, and answering questions about the Book of Common Prayer. Registration is required.

An interesting and humorous study on faith and temptation! Participants will read and discuss The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis and together, observe Uncle Screwtape’s advice to his junior demon and nephew Wormwood on how to steer the “patient” away from the enemy, God.

On Wednesday, March 9, Moses Muguro of Trinity Loaves and Fishes Africa will present.

*This class is a required step for those pursuing Confirmation or Reception during the Bishop’s visit on June 28.

The book is available in for purchase at Trinity Treasures.
