Huntley Polanshek ’15 wrote about her time in the Latin Academy… “The Latin Academy was one of the best experiences I have ever had. It was amazing to be surrounded by others who appreciate the supposedly dead language as much as I do. The teachers were all really into Latin (and Greek!) as well, which helped us all survive the classes. Our classes and lectures ranged from conversational Latin to Roman and Greek art. Some of the best meals, actually, involved us all having to speak in complete Latin. We had fields trips as well, which brought us back to Richmond for the State Capitol and the VMFA as well as an outdoor theatre. I made a ton of friends, and we ’ re all hoping we can meet up soon, potentially at the State Convention. In short, venimus, vidimus, vicimus. We came, we saw, we conquered!”

Trinity’s Robotics Team Robotics Team: Traveled to Myrtle Beach for the annual First Robotics competition. Now in its tenth year, the competition brought together 65 teams from 12 states, the District of Columbia and Brazil to the Grand Strand and put students to the test. FIRST Robotics is the largest organized competitive robotics program in the world and regional winners move on to a final tournament. Teams are given a game and a kit and students have six weeks to design and build a robot that can perform the tasks of the game. The process encourages interest in science, technology, math and engineering skills, while also teaching students how to solve problems and work together.
