College Auxiliary

This year, our 50th anniversary added another dimension to life at Trinity College and as always the College Auxiliary was there to provide support at many of the events held in celebration of this milestone.

In addition to the Jubilee celebrations, we assisted at many other traditional Trinity events throughout the year.

Two such events were the Grandparents’ Morning Tea and our Guest Speaker Morning Tea. This year’s guest speaker Dr Michelle Ammerer, a leading interventional cardiologist, entertained us with stories of her journey from her student days at Mercedes College to her studies following school, to life as a busy working mother, while also delivering an important message about heart health. Due to our fundraising efforts at the Morning Tea, we were able to make contributions to Trinity College and our boys in many ways, both large and small. Another traditional event is our Melbourne Cup Luncheon, this year co-hosted with the Mercedes College P&F. This proved to be a fantastic initiative, with friends and families from both colleges enjoying a great afternoon together.

In addition we also held our Ladies Long Lunch & Sculptures by the Sea, a Day at the Races and Spring in the Valley. We held a Cupcakes and Cuvee evening with Trinity College parent Helene Feasey demonstrating the finer points of cupcake decorating. Another very successful event was a weekend away for Trinity mothers at Camp Kelly, which is sure to become an annual event!

My thanks to our outgoing office bearers for 2012: Kathryn Taggart (Treasurer), Fiona Pecorari (Assistant Treasurer), Stacey Kannis (Junior School Vice-President) and Annabel Gillespie (Kitchen Coordinator). Thanks also go to new and continuing office bearers: Rita Rocca (Vice-President), Stacey Kannis (Treasurer), Kim Rees (Kitchen Coordinator), and Nicola Gosatti (Junior School Vice-President), with a special mention to our wonderful Secretary Lee Loughnan who continues to quietly and efficiently get the job done, year after year. It’s with sadness that we farewell longstanding committee member and

past President Martina Stroud; we thank Martina for her outstanding service to the Trinity community during her time as a Trinity parent.

Trinity is, as always, hugely supportive of everything we do and we thank our Headmaster Mr Banks and his staff.

The continued success of the College Auxiliary is not possible without a lot of hard work by many people. My heartfelt thanks go to the wonderful ladies on the College Auxiliary Committee who are always there when there’s work to be done. Being a part of this wonderful group of women is truly a highlight of my time as a Trinity parent.
