Your Public Liability Insurance has got you covered

You won’t need additional insurance for learners on work placement, as your public liability insurance will cover them while they’re on site, including health and safety aspects. We will provide a risk assessment and all necessary documents to ensure the best support for the learner, and they will be supported during the placement by a member of our staff.

Together, you can assess whether a work placement within your business would be beneficial and a good fit for our learners. We firmly believe that hands-on experience is essential offering practical skills and insights that cannot be fully gained in a classroom setting. Our learners greatly benefit from these opportunities, which play a vital role in their development and future success.

Help Us Shape Futures – Offer a Young Person a Work Experience Opportunity

Work experience at Trinity Specialist College is tailored to each learner’s individual career journey, recognising that learners start at different stages and progress at their own pace. To support this, we seek employers who are willing to offer a range of opportunities from short taster days to flexible, personalised placements that accommodate the unique needs of each learner. For those ready to further develop specific skills or explore a particular industry, we also welcome longer-term placements that provide deeper, role-focused experience.

This flexible approach ensures every learner can access meaningful work experience that best supports their growth and aspirations.

We ask that companies offering work experience placements provide a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment where our learners can develop their employability skills in real-life workplace settings.

A willingness to be flexible, patient and understanding is key, as learners may require clear instructions, repetition, or additional time to complete tasks. We encourage employers to engage in any inclusive or disability awareness training they feel would benefit their team. We can provide links to trusted training providers if needed. While we offer ongoing support and regular communication throughout the placement, it is helpful for the business to assign a point of contact or mentor to help guide and encourage the learner.

Most importantly, we ask that learners are treated as valued members of the team, with tasks that are purposeful, achievable and contribute meaningfully to the workplace.
