“I appreciated Tricon's transparency throughout the project. The project manager was extremely approachable throughout the project and when issues arose, he made sure we were aware and provided us with a solution or an option. He was one who managed people very well, but he was also willing to role his sleeves up and get dirty when needed. The climate on the job site was very cooperative and all the subs appeared to work very well together. Tricon listened very well, expected excellence, and were knowledgeable. I would recommend the team we had to anyone.”

Bee Branch Railroad CulvertsProject
Dubuque, Iowa
Tricon completed this very technically difficult project for the City of Dubuque. The Railroad Culverts Project is a critical phase of the larger Bee Branch Watershed Flood Mitigation Project and will increase the flood mitigation system’s capacity to protect the area from a 75-year rain event to a 500-year rain event. The railroad culverts project involved using micro-tunneling methods to install six, 8-foot diameter culverts under the Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) tracks along Garfield Ave. This will allow stormwater to drain more efficiently from the Upper Bee Branch Creek to the Lower Bee Branch Creek and 16th St. Detention Basin. The six steel culverts were installed under the CP Railroad tracks while the trains remained operational. A jacking system was constructed below the Bee Branch water basin and the culverts were installed by boring 200’ long tunnels 20’ under the railroad. Each pipe required considerable prep work including cutting the holes through the sheet pile walls to allow the micro-tunneling machine to pass. This project took 2.5 years to construct.
“The craftsmanship of the project was exceptional and was delivered on target in terms of project schedule and budget. Tricon Construction Group demonstrated an impressive determination to work together as a team. It was clear from our daily involvement in the construction process that Tricon is very accomplished at directing the various trades in the highest professional and positive manner. We look forward to working with TCG on future projects and they get our highest recommendation.”

WE ARE HERE FOR YOU
What sets Tricon apart from the rest?
At Tricon you don’t get fluff…you get results. We are a FULL-SERVICE GENERAL
CONTRACTOR

From value engineering and project schedules to punch list and close out, we have appreciated Tricon’s proactive approach, strong jobsite leadership, and quality craftsmanship.”

5 Ways Tricon Can Make Your Project A Unique Experience
1. Able to work together with designers as well as subs
The last thing an Owner needs is a GC that points blame on the designer or subs. We’re in it together.
2. We excel at “messy” projects
Not many projects go according to plan. Sometimes these roadblocks require additional designing, planning, or innovative ideas to solve without affecting the budget or final design. Well, we’ve been around the block a few times.
3. Desire for repeat business
Ok, we’re busted. We are selfish in the fact that we treat every project, so you will want us coming back.
4. Owner’s interests are our interests
Whatever it takes to meet the Owner’s expectations is our greatest desire. It is their vision…their dream...their baby. Tricon understands we are the tool that can bring their dream to life!
5. Run the CM project as a GC during construction
We are a great General Contractor that can also Construction Manage your project…not a Construction Manager that can’t General Contract. What we’re saying is we are a great builder that can aid the designer, mange your project, direct the subcontractors, and give you an exceptional product!
