As we move forward in 2025 it brings continued optimism in the cattle industry. Prices have steadily risen but not at a rate that brings alarm to consumers as consumer buying and exports remain strong. The general forecast for this year and even into the future remains positive.

Breeders need to continue the trend of replacing older females and continue to improve the genetics in their herd.

The offerings and variety in this year’s sales create a perfect opportunity for our customers to do so. While we always stay true to our roots and standards of producing real world cattle that makes you a profit, we continue to diversify our program to be more inclusive of a variety of customers’ needs and demands. This year for the first time we are offering a group of commercial bred Black Baldy females. These are as good as they get, and they fill a gap in our programs that help meet the demand of some of our customers. Of course, as always, we have a great variety and strong offering of registered bulls and females. We are a believer in a strong Fl program to start and build strong genetics from the base up and we continue to expand those offerings each year. As industry changes and our demand changes, we try to adapt to our customers’ needs. After all our customer is king and their needs help guide the direction of our program. This is our 10th annual production sale, and I think that we have proven ourselves over and over as a reliable and dependable source for seed stock cattle for our customers. While our main operation is to breed for the field due to our high-quality genetics, we always have a few females that have the phenotype and show build that will excel in the showring. Our time is now limited for showing but we have lots of experience in the show ring and know what kind of females it takes to bring home the banners. The three offerings we have this year are outstanding and will be competitive anywhere. They will be good to show through the 2025 season and are perfect age to be competitive at junior nationals, county fairs, or the Royal or North American next fall. LOT 78A & 78B He is the son of our well-known Solomon bull that is now deceased. Some of you may be familiar with Solomon. We think he was the best bull that we ever raised and HD12 is following in his footsteps. One advantage of HD12 over Solomon is that he is 85.6% Homozygous black and Homozygous polled. He is considered a Calving ease bull and his calves back up his EPD’s as we have had no issues with birth, and he is safe for heifers. HD12 is not a flashy bull but one look at him and you can tell he is thick, deep and loaded with muscle. He is clean fronted and surefooted. He moves easily in the pasture and has good stride. If you look at his EPDs they are solid but not over the top. The performance of his calves proves his worth. We have several calves sired by him. He is now 4 years old, and this is why we wanted to wait to collect him until we had proven calves on the ground. With that being said, we know what his ability is.
